I've been playing SA for well over a year now and have been everything from a hero to a squad member to a lone wolf bandit. I play more as a lone wolf hero now and like to just hang around the bigger towns and observe what's going on with my binoculars. Electro is my fav place to sit and watch the goings on of people on full servers. I've seen fire fights where one man takes down a whole squad. I've seen suicides off the fire station towers. I've even seen a pack of canibals fearing on a group of fresh spawns. It's better than cable TV.

What are some of the most outrageous acts you people have seen and where? Is electro really better than cherno for people watching? How about NWAF? I'm getting bored here and just wondering what else is out there? Any cool sight seeing places? I don't spend much time north of the rail line. Anything good up there?

Y-day I got a novo spawn and the first thing I see is a guy jumping off the garage roof. I continued looting and after some minutes someone talks nearby. i go out and theres a second guy on the roof saying his goodbyes. Then he too jumps.

 

Maybe they should change the way the spawn system works so you won't have to kill yourself to play where you want to.

Please, right now for the best aspect of this game is the PVP. if you wanna run around the woods eating berries and apples, you go boy. But for me, ruining another players day is way more fun

and you have every right to do that and if you wanna kill yourself to achieve that goal so be it. but to add spawn or a way to choose your spawn is just weak don't you get more satisfaction out of earning everything not just by looting but from your kills if your were allowed to spawn where you wanted wouldn't it make the game seem shallow and the rewards/battles not as tense or adrenaline filled because hey you can just spawn right back no need to becareful maybe i'm wrong probably thats just the way i would feel plus i'm sure when modders get ahold of this the first thing they add will be the ability to spawn where you want as well as 100+ vehicles and starting gear such as M4 just wait you'll have your day.

OP, you are bored, and wondering what else there is to do?

 

You enjoy pvp, but can't be bothered to gun up, but rather suicide to get closer. You really gotta work for what you want, if you want it bad enough!

 

Do you really want to try other things in this game? It sounds like you don't, especially if you prefer ruining others playtime. Without the need to ask in this topic, you know this is a sandbox game, and the possibilities end with your imagination. You choose what you want to do. But if you are really wondering on what else to do...

 

I could suggest a lovely hike up into the northern regions of Chernarus and get some fresh air. Go for a little sight seeing, appreciate the scenery, take it all in. There are some memorable spots in game, and makes it even more worth it when you discover it by yourself without some online aid. Learn to read your surroundings, without a map, find out how to navigate properly. It's quite a change from the coastal wars and is quiet relaxing. Not every ones cuppa though

 

Have a fancy for some fresh game?  Put aside your morning to go do some hunting and stalking. Sit and study their movement, watch how they react to the environment, and your movement. Be patient, learn to be invisible & how to approach game without the need to resorting to firearms. This is a challenge in itself.

 

Fancy some role playing? Eh, probably not but you can find yourself engaging some wonderful & wacky scenarios and the people you find, may just take your mind away from your gun long enough to have a laugh.

 

If you don't like the sounds of any of this, how about.

 

Infiltrate a whole city, clear it out, hold it down & setup some ambush points with some inescapable traps. Have your way with them if you must. Scare & torture them. Just make sure they remember you. Give them an experience, a story to walk away from.  At least make it interesting, for both parties.

 

Now is the time to have fun & experiment with, not get stuck in a rut and play the same way in & out every day. If you don't have fun one way, try another.

Which you can do just as easily with a Repeater, Shotgun, SKS, or Mosin.... Why do you "need" to run for an AKM?

Because everyone knows the correct way to PvP is to dump 75 rounds of 7.62x39mm ammo into a single person. This can of course be achieved with an SKS, but not as easily.

I always like telling the one true spooky moment I've had in the SA.

 

Before the bodies disappeared after a couple minutes, a friend and I were heading to the Zelenogorsk military area to see what we could find.

When we got there we saw around six bodies who had clearly been fighting. Everyone's gear was on their bodies, none seemed to be looted.

We were paranoid of how long ago this fighting took place and there may be someone nearby.

We came to the conclusion that they were the only ones around and it was simply a firefight where nobody lived through the shooting. I loved it.

 

And then bodies disappear after a couple minutes and we'll never have that experience again.

My friend and I become murderers every time a wipe is near.

We were roaming Berezino and while he was in the police station another player entered it. I ran to the front entrance and killed him with my shotgun.

Since I had a mine I put his backpack and gun on the floor and placed and activated the mine

Luckily we met a new spawn nearby and told him about the gun and backpack in the police station.

We escorted him safely and enjoyed the firework. :D

Bodies disappearing only happens so quickly now to help server side performance , so expect the bodies to eventually have a decaying mechanic and stay until a certain restart or hard wipe when they will be removed , I'm guessing this will be by beta though and not put in for alpha ... This was talked about by devs around February of 2014 I think , but was said to be something added far down the line because again server performance needs help ATM ... So soon we will see bodies everywhere again !
