Can you believe this? Back to the old loot system?

Honestly, when there was low loot, everyone complained. It was difficult, and I struggled myself. After 100 hours on the scarce loot system, I understood what I needed to do to survive. I learned the ropes, and slowly but surely the game became known to me again. I log in today, and what I have been reading on the forums are true, the old loot system is back. DEVELOPS WHAT THE HECK! The plight of dying of starvation and being forced to learn how to survive, learning the new loot tables. The struggle made it fun, and now all those hours I put into learning how to survive are put to waste.

I hope this could take a positive direction from now and don't rush updates with more bugs and old un-addressed problems.

The hard-core fans say-- Its just alpha, its still in test phase.

Sorry to break it to you, but I am too a huge dayz fan.

They have worked too long on this game that they can't keep excusing themselves because it being an alpha.

Thoughts?

Should read more.

Clearly stated they are only reverting to a PLACEHOLDER loot system while they address issues with the CLE.

Many many servers were literally thousands of item spawns short of their par.

As above, the old loot system was less broken than the new system, so its back temporarily until new system is fixed.

I for one enjoyed the harder game play with less loot and can't wait till its back!

The "hardcore" players weren't the ones complaining and blaming it on alpha.

I don't understand it either, But im giving Praise to any post that has anything to do with getting this .54 loot system as close to Pluto ( Yes the ex Planet ) as possible. Why, Why, Why, i ask. Why couldn't they just keep the .55 and work on a fix ? Why did they need to goto the .54 and work on a fix ? Because a few servers didn't have loot spawning , so we change everything ? Mmmm my blood pressure is up :)

.54 Common....

They aren't going back to the loot system as much as the loot system they had intended to put in was not working correctly or as anticipated.

I will simply assume that items will still be rare in the future though not to the point of this past patch.

What does that even mean?

It means he has no idea about any aspect of game development, and doesn't understand that even the things they add at the end of the alpha phase may totally break the game and cause unplayable periods and/or rollbacks.  Alpha will always be an excuse in ALPHA phase (imagine that) ... as hicks just said in a recent post You are testing, NOT playing .... remember that.

They just need to get it working first. The first try made it clear that it needed more work first.

Don't say that Gibonez :)  It was nice to meet someone that didn't have an AKM with a drum Mag. Mabey i am selfish because i found almost everything i needed , but i roamed the entire map to get it. It was nice while it lasted to have the upper hand (being that i traveled everywhere to get the gear) Now a guy sitting in one town will have the upper hand again ?  I hope thats not true , I always liked the risk/reward part. Like those Maniac players planting pumpkins right next to a water well :) Edited by LoveAffair

Its being an alpha???!!! The game is an Alpha and yes they can at the moment because we are testing the game for them. Not every change they make will the community like, all part of the testing process we signed up for

When the zombies were going through walls, doors, everything, did they take zombies out while they worked on getting them to a less buggy state? Nope. They caved, plain and simple. And I don't know why because if they stay true to their vision they are going to lose those players in the end anyways.

The majority of people want loot and I think the Devs are realizing this. I don't understand how you guys like a game where all you do is try not to starve.

Because it's a SURVIVAL game. NOT a grab a gun and kill everyone you see game. Food should be hard to find, and guns should be even harder to find, let alone ammo for them.

"Survival game" is a broad term. What you make think is a fun survival game most people might find incredibly boring.

There were problems and bugs with the "harder" loot system that caused players to leave for reasons other than the game's difficulty.

After they touch up on a few things, they will bring back a "new & improved", polished version of the harder loot system.

They were basically just curious on what would happen. :P

By Q3 we should have a more realistic loot system, unlike the one that the devs just gave us.

Some of us think an easy grab a gun an peeveepee game is boring, there's lots of them. There's few that don't fit the mold as far as ease of survival go and there is a market for something different, different seem to be a difficult concept to understand.

Because if they took out zombies suddenly its no longer a zombie game. They can roll back to a placeholder loot system while they work out kinks in the CLE and still have it be a zombie survival game.

They paid a lot of money for the rights on this game. They're gonna follow the money and my bet the money won't be coming from satisfying a small segment of the gaming community that wants to just fight off starvation with no guns for hours on end.

The  "hardcore survivalists" WANT guns. We just want something else to do other than clusterfuck on the coast, decked out with the latest issues of "SPESHUL FORCES MONTHLY".

Oh, and if the devs could also make "survival" in any way realistic, requiring the player to eat, drink, and pay attention to their surroundings more than once a play session, that would be nice.

Protip: I've seen streams of players who sit in a house in Berezino/Elektro STARVING to death, all waiting for PvP to happen. That needs to stop.

If we're posting they already have our money and we agreed this game will change. I'm just here to support the roadmap, some are here praising the placeholder systems that are just as "broken".

I'f it doesn't go ours I'll move on.

If it does they will.

$40 is a small price to pay to maybe get the game we want.
