bandithunter123 0 Posted April 15, 2015 (edited) Ok...So i have been playing this game since almost a year. And i have had lots of fun with my friends etc...But what ALWAYS bothered me was the damn performace and the fps that i get in this.I have a decent computer that can run almost any game in medium settings in 60fps...But in this game my fps are just HORRIBLE.When i go to some town like cherno or elektro the game is just unplayable...My fps are like 11 or 12..lol...I heard that they are going to implement Directx11 in the game and i wish that that is going to fix the performance a bit (i want at least 25 fps in towns i mean COME ON i wanna play like a normal person)...I am not some rich person to be able to own a hardcore computer to run this game with good fps..so when is Directx11 going to be implemented in the game?is it going to be soon (as i read in early may)?,or is this a long distance promise by the devs?i mean in my opinnion fixing the performance should be one of the major issues of the game.Because not everyone is able to own a hardocre computer to be able to run this with decent framerates...lol Edited April 15, 2015 by bandithunter123
stinkenheim 249 Posted April 15, 2015 even people with 'hardcore' computers struggle because the game isn't optimized due to it's very early development stage. Optimization will happen properly in the Beta phase, however, from what was said by the dev team (and assuming I remember it properly) the first segment of the new renderer will be implemented around mid-end of May.This doesn't mean the new renderer will be in and working but it is the first part so that all future modules can be plugged into it. It also won't be taken any of the strain from the existing renderer, it's literally the scaffolding for future updates. One last thing, the new renderer probably won't give you double the frames, think they were saying that until it's all optimized you'll be getting 10-20% more, so in your case it should push your 11-12 FPS up to 12-14 FPS. We are all in the same boat, I've watched streamers with Titan X's and i7's that get big frame drops in cities like Svet and Cherno. It's unfortunately just the nature of an alpha stage game. HarryPotter (DayZ) 172 Posted April 15, 2015 I have a mid tier computer (I think) and get 15-25 FPS in cities on medium settings. I just turn off all the fancy processing stuff but the game still looks nice... I dont think people are ever getting over 30 fps in cities and 60 in the bush? St. Jimmy 1631 Posted April 15, 2015 When the new renderer hits, you won't get any big increase. You can think thats's just the point when they can start tooptimize the game. First comes the renderer and then optimizations.
Schweinsteiger 107 Posted April 15, 2015 The new render will indeed give us a FPS boost, at least that's how I understood it from reading what the devs wrote. It may not be a huge increase but there will be an increase when it is implemented in May. After that, like another poster said, they will begin to optimize as they go along, hopefully resulting in much better overall performance.
SammyTheGamer 25 Posted April 15, 2015 My friends and I (about 10 in total) all have a range of different PC's the worst being an I5 and the best being an I7, and we have a range of different graphics cards and RAM, yet we never have problems with FPS anywhere. We all play with "ultra" graphics. It's strange how some people with better PC's get worse performance then some people with lower specs.
Funkmaster Rick 373 Posted April 15, 2015 The new renderer is basically Lando Calrissian.Right now, while we're waiting for it, it's good. Once it gets here, it will appear very bad. But then it'll save us all in the end.

This task is traditionally handled towards the end of feature development - and can occur along side the tail end of content dev in what might more commonly be called the "Beta" phase. You'll want to check back in towards the beginning of next year (or wait for DayZ to release and leave Early Access) - again, if that is what you're looking for.
Schweinsteiger 107 Posted April 16, 2015 Oh well, shit happens. I was hoping for a little improvement. Been playing for a long time, I can wait another year.

I dont think people are ever getting over 30 fps in cities and 60 in the bush? You're correct on that, the only thing my build lacks is a ridiculously insane graphics card, I've got an amd Radeon 7900 with an i7 4790k and get 25/30 fps in cities, 50/60+ in the bush. Everything on high to gain those frames.

When everyone of your buddies has an i5 or i7, thats not a big suprise, DayZ is very CPU heavy and having the best/second best series of CPUs currently available installed helps dramatically i myself have major problems because of my CPU being low to mid tier, to play at 30 fps i need to tone the graphics quality down to no end (mainly object quality and render distances) the poor performance is the only thing right now that keeps me from playing DayZ, else this game is almost perfect for me -oh boy, using the search function and then writing something is not a good idea, sry for the necro xD Edited June 1, 2015 by Zombo
