Tent Wipe

So I logged onto my server to put my tent down and found that all of the stuff that I had left behind were not cleared out as usual. Is anyone else finding that things were not cleared? A clanmate forgot to pickup his tent last night and It was still there this morning when he logged on. Would be awesome if tents were not being wiped.

I still have some of my backpacks in the server, what I'm wondering is if there is a delay to the reset to some servers or not? 

 

I don't want to put my stuff down and then have the server reset

Same problem :huh:  I tweet that situation you got and they did not reply it so I set my tent up again. We'll see what will happen after it.

Some severs have a delay seen it before.

All my backpacks I left behind are gone.. I ahead this happen before on another server.. Logged in later that day everything was gone.

By "no hive wipe" I'm assuming they really meant "no persistence wipe". To me, hive wipe implies the characters, not the stuff on the ground. A small oversight/translation issue I'm sure.

This is why we decided to reset persistent ourselves when the update comes. New trucks and choppers spawns only come when they do a wipe amd it seems hit or miss if they actually wipe it or not. It seems they only do a wipe when they implement an actual update or hotfix.

I don't remember there being a wipe last week either. Granted, my camp has no tents and is a glorified pile on mountain bags in the woods, but they all are still there and have been for a while. Same with the campfire.

So,  I am still new to this game, can i pack a backpack fill with craps I want to save for later use or just in case like a spare handgun etc and toss it/hide it somewhere I can find it later and will be there unless they perform server wipe every ___ day right? 

 

If that the case, it would be awesome. I am running out space to carry shit lol

My tent finding luck has been terrible so my friend has gathered about a half dozen mountain bags so that's our camp. Plus tons of AKs on the floor.

It would be really cool if they finally stopped wiping the hive once per week so tents aren't a chore to use and they would be actually useful as permament storage. Same goes for backpacks.

Find my stuff and there's more than enough for me. I honestly wouldn't even be mad if someone walked out with a rifle and a bag. Probably wouldn't notice either.

Just to be on the safe side though, I would still advise players to pick up their tents and such before the weekly maintenance.

So when picking up stuff, how does that work? I can't put a tent in my inventory with all my stuff so do I prioritize what I want to save and just bin the rest?

That would be the way to go for now, yes.

I generally make up a "keep" bag each Tuesday night, and stuff everything I can into my HI-cap vest and gorka gear.  With a few pelican cases and ammo boxes, you can keep more than enough.  I've been toting around 400 mosin rounds, an extra drum mag and cases of optics and surpressed pistols for a couple weeks.  Sadly the tents have to go, unless you can find and initiate a new person into the camp each week.  I really hope full persistence comes around soon, I'm doing way too much inventory management.

Could I please make the suggestion to be able to interact with dropped backpacks to set persistence on? That way randomly dropped backpacks won't accumulate and people who actually want to store stuff will keep their stuff. If the 'persistence on' stuff hasnt been interacted with after 4 weeks then it could be wiped

 

half the fun with storage is seeing how long your stuff lasts without getting found xD

No wipe happened today. But I am hundred percent sure there will be one next week.

That is a glitch...

Various servers wipe different things.. My tent and left over backpacks I could not carry were wiped with maintenance.. However my trucks for the past three weeks have remained parked where I left them.

Meanwhile a friend of mine uses a server where his truck is reset each week but his backpacks stay

Good to know, My trucks and bags were gone this week, but stayed last week; same server.  Last weeks maintenance duped a couple protector cases at my old camp; I went back to check for old bags when my closest truck was still parked where I left it.  Unforutnately the bag that I put those in disappeared off my back to a non-scheduled server restart while in the process of moving camp again (clanmate lost his sense of humor and teamkilled, then complained of starving; I offered to drive him to a loot-vomit of food but then I just kept driving until he passed out and  raged--best LOLZ kill ever!).

 

Anywho, I wonder if the disappearing bags with unintentionally duped gear are now getting cleaned up by the servers, but late by a few days.  

It was very interesting learning of the different Peersistence behaviors between servers.  Does anyone know of a dedicated Presistence Science thread?
