M1911 Engraved?

Yesterday, I found an M1911 in a wooden cabin at Elektro. I've never seen or heard of one before and I as wondering if they were rare.

 

I decided today to check the DayZ Standalone Wikipedia, however no pages were found on the M1911 engraved... I'm guessing the stats on the gun are identical to the original M1911 with the only differentiation of the two being the texture. 

 

Does anyone have any info on the gun? _{:o  :o}

And it is in fact, rarer than the normal 1911 variant. Regular 1911s are rare too. But you will find significantly less engraved than normal.

Not in my exp... Unless u got spawn % numbers to quote from the game filed.

It spawns the same place any handgun can spawn and it is quite common.. I find several every week

Well they are supposed to be rare from my experience... I've found a good 50 1911s in the past two weeks.. and out of those "50", only a good 5 or 6 were engraved.

I have found maybe 50 guns tops this week and I do a lot of looting...

U were just saying the 1911s themselves are rare... Any gun u can find 50 of in 2 weeks isn't rare....

like I said this argument comes down to personal exp since % spawn figures are not shared but I'd wager that each handgun has the same % to spawn at each spawn point.

engraved 1911 are not rare from my experience, i'm not sure it's more rare than the non-engraved one. the 1911 magazine is the most easily found actually, you have good chances to find one in police buldings, i even found some in piano houses.

 

half of my last playthrough, the engraved 1911 was my side weapon (one hit zombie killer and very silent with silencer).

If you loot the gun houses.. one of lets say three or four holds a 1911. So if you spend an hour along the coast looting houses (like the gun houses) and you go through a good 100-ish houses.. you are going to find ATLEAST 4 or 5 1911s. And that's only in an hour. So 50 in two weeks isn't that hard to accomplish.

Assuming every said house is not already looted.

However I doubt u actually kept track and to be honest your making an exaggeration to try and prove ur point. I could do the same and we would be here all day.

Pretty sure each gun spawn point which has a handgun potential has an equal % to spawn any handgun.

It seems to work this way for any sort of weapon spawn point.

Some buildings just limit which guns can spawn is all but in the case of the engraved 1911 it is not a gun which spawns in only special places such as a barrack so I doubt that is the case

I've been carrying a surpressed 1911 with flashlight as a zed killin gun this week.  It is quiet and effective, but the magazine is barely enough to drop three in a pinch.  I prefer the standard to the engraved 1911, because I can't be sure if the ivory inlay was ethically sourced.  Death to elephant poachers!!!

I carry the same gun in a holster, but also a supressed CR 75. I really dig its bigger magazine and I keep the 1911 as a backup. You are totally right about the small mag. Having a backup magazine for either gun is really great, as you can just press "r" to reload. I like it. It is a lot faster than fumbling around and taking out the magazines in inventory.

I've never gotten the "R" reload function to work. I just press F when the icon appears.

 I like the 1911 too but the CR75 is way superior mainly due to its doubled capacity. Now, if we could get a 75 round drum mag for the 1911......... no?

 

As for rare, no. The only rare handgun right now is the .22. Even the FNX spawns quite often. Mags are rare for all guns though.
