Anyone else getting this?

Recommended Posts

I have not tested this with a lot of things, but its not a one off thing it has been happening all night in a 5 hour session of Dayz going in different servers and what not. When you zoom in with a mosin with a long range scope or a range finder (I guess it would be other things as well but I was not using anything else) you get this violent flick upwards every 10 seconds, this is not sway it seems more like desync but when I check my ping and desync its fine. It certainly makes sniping a challange on top of the ott sway atm. Anyone else getting this?

We have experienced something similar but not a flick. We get this bug where the video seems shaky. It's not weapon sway at all, if you look down the site of.your gun part of the background seems to almost vibrate, yet your gun is as still as anything. The only way to get rid of it is to die. Changing servers and relogging did nothing.

I have also noticed that doors that are closed appear opened while zoomed in and go back to closed when you zoom out. Certainly something strange going on with the zoom graphics feed

That actually has to do with rendering. The doors render shut and at a lesser quality to improve performance. You can change that by editing your render distance in your config files.

Correct... its a low LOD (Level of Detail - Usually 3 Versions) Model... a standard technique used in games for performance.... Pretty much so that game doesn't use unnecessary resources on rendering Objects far away as a high detail model, but rather a lower detail/ poly model

Still... I don't know much about programming and engine restrictions, but don't know why they cant have it so that the open/close door state get implemented on the lower LODs

Really? What type of rig do you have? And what settings are you playing the game on? I'm playing with everything on Normal/Medium settings, and the game runs fine (albeit not outstanding) for me; my rig specs are in my sig. I'm guessing that your "beastly setup" is probably better than mine. If you're running on High settings (or above, if there is such a thing yet), that could be part of the issue, as I know the graphics aren't really optimized at all yet.

sadly I get it too, if you watch your FPS it drops from 85ish to like 27 or 17 then back up again. Horrible engine atm.

I have experienced something similiar, mainly with binoculars, though. Never really use the rangefinder.

And I really don't get why people say they get such low FPS on rigs that must be better than my own; I run everything maxed and I get a solid 30 - 40 FPS even in towns, though it might take a minute or two to load everything in when I first enter a town.

Haven't noticed the tick, and I run dayz balls out, everything on highest besides blur.
