Open discourse about hoarding.

Recommended Posts

As soon as the game is working I'll be hoarding some items. I always envisioned having several "bases" around the map that would contain all the gear needed to hunt and farm and that's it. The rest of the time my friends and I will be on the lookout for your base and if you've been a naughty little hoarder, we're only going to leave you with a teddy bear.

I think you are a hoarding, selfish douche. This is your right though, because the game designers aren't prioritizing preventing this, they are busy doing <something else>. If you want to be a loser who hoards stuff you don't use, which means other players cant enjoy it, by all means. We certainly can't stop you. Also I hope you get AIDS.

Yeah yeah, AIDS.

Not acceptable, scoot for a few.

You know the drill.

Guys, please chill out.

It's been a long day and it's just a game. A game about hoarding stuff. Endless hoarding.

I can attest to this.

As you can that the ban was revoked...

Do not confuse accidental duping with malicious duping use.

Hoarding for a rainy day or stocking for a group (supply dump) is not a problem, I have in the past created supply dumps strategically placed across the map.

I've not seen the 5000 duped items that someone mentioned but I can confirm 3800, the guy has not been banned and I doubt that he will be repeating his exploit <_<  !

Sometimes not even accidental duping....

Some months back, playing with my mate we meet a guy in Cherno. Almost immediately he asked "are you guys duping" - it wasn't that I'd wholly unnoticed we had exactly the same color and style of hat, jacket, pants, shoes that we had found but it sure made me feel awkward lol - though why anyone would dupe that 3 pocket puffy jacket when there was gear all over Cherno (as we later found) is beyond me but it sure looked suspicious

Oh yes, indeed. After being flamed for three days by 90% of the forum and borderline harassing the BattlEye admin, it was finally looked into. (I'm definitely glad that it was looked into, but it's by no means a great system.)

BattlEye almost cost me $90, and I've never even thought about cheating. My heart goes out to the plethora of false-positive bans that haven't been caught.
