sneakydudes 278 Posted January 30, 2015 (edited) With the 1000's of threads and questions I have seen in every thread, bug submission etc.. here is what you do. I am cold, cant aim, and shaking. 1. Make a splint, use2. Put 1 to 2 fires down3. wait 10 minutes and you should be good to go, if not wait till your aim is perfect. Total time = 10 minutes exactly this was a newbie fresh spawn. Very easy to do, but you need a safe spot to do it in. Edited January 30, 2015 by FIRMSneakydude
McWendy 675 Posted January 30, 2015 (edited) Or carry a thermometer. :)But yeah when your body temp is 35 celcius or less you need to do what OP does. Edited January 30, 2015 by McWendy
tommy290 941 Posted January 30, 2015 Building campfires indoors is dangerous. Make sure you have a fire extinguisher handy. ;)
sneakydudes 278 Posted January 30, 2015 I just had to post this, the bug submission page is so full of them it isn't funny.I know people have been learning about it but us older bug reporters have been figuring this out for a long time now. I learned the hard way since .51 cold till .52 and couldn't aim at all. I hope this helps people know what is happening. I haven't tried the thermometer but I will grab one next time. Thanks for reminding me of that thermometer :)
Death By Crowbar 1213 Posted January 30, 2015 I usually make myself a fire on top of the nearest forested mountain - the view distance on fires is pretty close so people won't see me (plus the trees) and there will always been trees to cut for wood and also bushes for sticks. Sometimes if I'm playing on a server that's got the temperature setting way down I'll just carry a fireplace kit and log with me rather than going through the effort again (albeit that takes up a lot of space). I wish we could still make fires indoors. But hey fire safety and all ;)
CJFlint 357 Posted January 30, 2015 (edited) When I had the shaking happen I just sat in front of 1 fire for 10 20 minutes. A splint does that help? I only use the for limb pain or broken limbs. Edited January 30, 2015 by CJFlint

You don't have to but it saves time, plus most likely you have materials left over to make one quickly. I have new screen shots added to this, to help newbies and experienced players. Just uploading them now.

I had it happen only once, and what was strange is I did not have the cold bar. BUT it could have been I was right at the brink. The fire got rid of. Also the time it happened to me I was in melee combat allot with zombies.
sneakydudes 278 Posted January 30, 2015 Same here cjflint, I had that cold bug since .51 then a bunch of us got together on the forums and figured it out one day in .52 Nobody had any idea why we where aiming up and down. We tried all of the meds, and sat at a camp fire for a few minutes. It wasn't enough time. Now we have figured it out. I died so I started to see the messages again in .52 Hense why I made this thread to help players understand the system is working. If you have the cold aiming bug, put a split on and sit by the fire for 10 minutes. It will fix the aiming solutions.ClanZ has a private Master hive so we can test and play around solo. I hope I didn't upload too many images, its to help show the exact freezing to hot messages for people.
LoveAffair 329 Posted January 31, 2015 Can't you just put a warmer jacket on and keep looting ? I always find warmer clothes running from place to place and i always seem to get slowly warming up. I have never stopped to make a fire to warm up, Just only to cook food and i have never died from Hypothermia , The shaking is another story though , No wonder my aim is so bad . Bororm 1156 Posted January 31, 2015 (edited) Clothes matter a lot even with fires for this. I sat by 4 fires for a very long time, constantly "warming up" but never got warm enough to actually get rid of the shakes. I was wearing a tactical shirt, short pants no shoes. It was only after I put on a bunch of other gear including shoes and gloves that I was able to warm up while sitting by 3 more fires for a while longer. My guess is that even though I was warming up, I was cooling off at a similar rate and my temperature wasn't able to increase enough. So I'd add that extra note to your guide, that you need to make sure you actually have decent clothes on too if you're not seeing a difference. I don't think splints actually help with the shaking. They are different effects. It can't hurt to try, but the sway from a broken arm is a lot different from the actual shaking of being cold. Bororm 1156 Posted February 2, 2015 Did you wring your clothes out? Yeah I did. I was also in doors. And funnily enough, when I did get warm I did it sitting in the rain (by the fires), since the gorka jacket/hunter pants I put on instead were waterproof.Which is another topic but I kinda think it's silly how much better that sorta gear is. I think you should eventually get damp at least, as even if you're wearing waterproof clothes you're gonna end up wet irl sitting in the rain =P
eno 1049 Posted February 2, 2015 The gorka gear is really the only thing that makes a trip to the NWAF worth it for me- and I do appreciate having the high cap vest as well. I don't need to be completely teched out to enjoy the game as I am more of an evade style of player- but I do like being able to operate freely in the rain. I'm pretty sure if you have a booney hat as well you're pretty much good to go in the rain for any amount of time.
