treetop82 59 Posted January 21, 2015 Is it truly even worth keeping this weapon right now? a) It takes 5-7 shots to drop a zombie, unless you get a headshot.b) It takes 4-5 shots to drop a deer in the woods.c) I'm assuming it will take two clips of shooting to drop a player. Also, the pistol suppressors are technically in...however are bugged and don't spawn. xD Another thing is that it will take more than 2 mags to kill a player unless you aim for the head. Aside from that, it says its super quiet and not only can it actually be filled with water and fired, but it makes it even quieter. This would be interesting to add in to DayZ along with some kind of snorkel you could craft, rising out of ponds and plinking someone to death unexpectedly with a .22 while they drink. Though I don't know if realistically the pistol can be fully submerged. So it actually does have a few interesting redeeming qualities that aren't in the game. Old_Crow_Whiskey 119 Posted January 21, 2015 (edited) If you have the gun, mags, and enough of ammo then why not keep it? You already know how many shots it takes to kill things. It's a very quiet gun perfect for in town zombie slaying. I imagine that the power will be increased in future patches. It goes without saying that you'll also need a serious primary and nice backup weapon (sawed off, magnum) assuming you have the space, or simply a fully automatic primary for actual protection. Here are a couple charts outlining the lethality of various ammo types. You'll see that .22 is less lethal than many types but still a very lethal round. We can expect that since the devs have shown their commitment to realistic firearm power in the past that they will continue to have such commitment in the future. I fully expect them to increase the power of all .22 hits across all weapons. They've been very good so far.
