How do you set up your hotbar, and why?

I use the mouse because the keyboard just doesn't seem to work.

I am a true DayZ LARPer. My ultimate goal is immersion. All of you immersion seekers are gnats compared to me. I act out what I want my character to do whilst my wife translates said information into keystrokes and mouse clicks for me. Using this method, I've never died. This has also brought my wife and I closer together. We now make love like peanut butter and jam. It's wonderful.

How do you justify using any keys at all or even the mouse then?  Do you use a steering wheel to drive the truck?  Cheating..  LOL. too funny, now I think you're just trolling..

4. Bandage or rag (the 4 is right above the forward button, easy to find in a panic when you're shot)

5. Fun/glory weapon/bladed weapon

6&7 are typically food and drink or more medical (friends blood bag/saline) depending on what I'm up to

I have my bar like this because these items are typically the ones I use the most and want to be able to quickly access them, as most people would.

I seem to be the only one not having melee on 1 :D

4. Melee, Firefighters Axe

5. Melee, Combat Knife, for skinning etc.

7. Free slot for now, sometimes Rangefinder/Lockpick etc if I realy need it.

10. Water Canteen

 

That's how I roll at the moment. And I only rely on hotbar to get stuff out since they are in protector cases etc. But as someone mentioned earlier, if you have your character tab open and use the hotbar, it works 100%. :)
