Cities were supposed to be riddles with diseases?

I remember to a time before standalone, well a couple of weeks really if I remember right, but The devs were saying that they were going to make area's where players were killed ofter, Cherno, Elektro, Major Cities, etc. were going to become filthy with diseases and zombies would be attracted - I know the zombie numbers will increase further into the year, espiecially with the new renderer, but I haven't heard a thing about the medical / disease aspect that they were talking about, couldn't see anything on the roadmap about it either and it sounded like a really cool idea!

 

Have any of you heard a thing about this or about whether it's been scrapped or not?

I'm kind of wondering how you can find fresh fruit in a city full of diseased flesh eating people.

Edit: @Beck it's "Day Zero" so there hasn't been time for fruit to rot. Also, I personally haven't seen zeds crouch and nom on a corpse since the mod.

It's a neat idea and I vaguely remember this but I haven't seen anything about it in recent dev posts.

 

I think they are more focused on getting to the point where we can have more zombies and have implemented a large amount of medical aspects before something like this would be experimented with.

not only should they add disease to cities, we also need contagious diseases.

 

while were at it, i hope they go full hardcore tears mode like the 2017 mod. cut food spawns by 70% or more. Deadly cold temps at night. forced real-time day-night cycle. basically forced to scavenge or hunt for food because nothings left. surviving your first day should be an achievement. so should having 5 bullets for your gun.

Edit: I have been informed by some high ranking official from the CDC that Malaria is a tropical disease, and Chernaurus is not a tropical climate, so I have decided to rewrite my snarky comment:

 

 

"Nothing screams "BEST GAME EVAR!" like dying from malaria Dengue fever xD"

 

 

Translation: I don't give a f[]ck

I need to read up on the diseases and mechanisms. I hope it's not like Oregon trail (or firehouse stairs):

Lucky. When I played in first grade my stupid family always f[]cked up the fording the river and little timmy and his sisters and brother always drowned like idiots

2017 was easy as long as you didn't play with the intention of going in commando. It was more Metal Gear Solid play style lol.

I personally haven't seen zeds crouch and nom on a corpse since the mod.

I saw that happen one time in the SA and I quite was surprised to see it. It is/was definitely in game but must be bugged at the moment

Malaria is a tropical disease. Chernarus is most definately not tropical.

if anyone has read what Rocket posted about the diseases then its definately worth a read! most likely will be a part of the diseases that will be in Q1 of 2015

Yeah same, i was sitting at work, listening to someone moan about the phone plan - when this came to mind about the diseases and what was happening with them!
