Spawning naked?

For some reason I spawned naked under a bridge, and this has happened twice to me now, is this a new thing? New kind of spawn-thingy where you spawn naked?

This sounds like you have had some networking issues and it has desync'ed you with no gear.

 

Did you try to restart the game? - in the end did you lose everything you had.

 

Edit, also where are you logging off at night?

that's happened to me off and on since about 6 months. no gear, not even pants, shirt, or flashlight, and I spawn under a bridge with water. I think BI is just being a major troll..

maybe the vybor spawn. i thought it was gone, but i got it a while ago. maybe.

I was alone and yes I spawned at Vybor, naked, no pants, no shirt, no shoes. It happened to me back then, but it was a different bridge.

Yeah, an old problem i guess, use to happen to me nearly every spawn. i liked it though since it's near some good stuff ;)

Yep, I call this "the naked and afraid in Vybor spawn".  Doesn't happen to me very often but when it does I head straight for the Vybor Base, where, usually, I am promptly killed by campers.

 

For the record, happened to me this morning, wasn't killed at Vybor but was ambushed at Zelengorsk, luckily I had stashed the AK 74 I had found at Vybor before the guy killed me (had no magazine for it so why give someone a free AK74?)

This generally happens when you die and respawn around the time a server restarts.  Joining the very same server after it resets will place your character naked just South of Vybor by the bridge.   This will only ever happen to you as a fresh spawn nowadays.  I've seen videos a while back of an entire server being ported naked there, along with many empty placeholder bodies, but that may have been fixed already.

It happens when you die, and then respawn in close to when a server restarts - when this happens your character can't connect to the server and that little bridge at Vybor is actually the Debug zone (in the mod it was way out in the plains with no trees) so when something goes wrong it basically spawns you in there.

Have you tried to Task Manager Stop the DayZ program =fast= (without touching any key in-game) and then restart DayZ and join some other server? If your glitch is like the false spawns for other reasons, you will at least turn up some other place, and if you had gear before you spawned, you usually get it back.

Worth trying (what do you loose?). 

Any time I spawn fresh when I should have gear I do this, and it has always worked for me 100%.. maybe 15-20 times in the year; This method, I've never (yet!) been stuck in a game as a freshspawn when I logged out with gear. Main thing is - don't touch or do anything in-game and shut down the game from windows immediately (NOT from inside the game).

[ edit: asking "were you alone?" was because of the youtube stuff/glitch stuff that folk have mentioned in the thread, But also because I had to explain IRL being no-pants under a bridge with a no-pants girl. Because 2 police logged in suddenly with their clothes on, and torches. I should have tried:  "I never saw her before - she just turned up like that" . Sheeeesh, life is full of glitches ain't it? ]

This has only happened to me once, on a 50 man server. Funny enough there were four other guys there, duking it out. I managed to run a few hundred metres before getting killed by some maniac who wanted a backpack I had managed to find. Its actually quite a good spawnpoint, close to Vybor, Veresnik military base, Green mountain and the NW airfield. Its unfortunately also a place where people tend to loot their high end gear and kills any competitors for it.

I've had this spawn point a total of three times, all in the same week. The reason that this spawn even EXISTS is because the devs wanted to get as close as possible to the NW airfield for some field tests or something like that, and I guess when they were done using this spawn, they didn't remove it from the game entirely. This spawn is really good in my opinion, you spawn naked, gear up from absolutely nothing and wallah! an amazing story! and even better, you spawn a mile away from a flipping military base! (that is really active and should not be gone to on populated servers due to the garentee of getting killed and the fact that it was already swiped clean) and on low-pop servers you have to deal with server hoppers. I was on a server with 4 other people in the whole map, and one of them was trying to shoot me through the barracks glass (which is un-penetrable).

 

If you don't know where the Vybor military base is, then listen closely (only follow these steps on a low-pop server! log out and into one if you have to!):

 

When you spawn under the bridge, travel through the first town, heading West on the main road.

 

After going through the first town (recommended that you get decently geared) you will encounter a second town along the main road, go through this town, and follow the main road that curves to the left of the church on the very west side of the town, after around 4-500 meters on the main road, you will see a small dirt road to the right, with a tree line heading towards a small bundle of trees surrounded by a field. (bundle of trees is about 3-400 meters in diameter) this bundle of trees houses the Vybor military base, the reason its called Vybor military base, is because Vybor is the small town with the church that you have to go through before getting to the military base.

 

If my explanation wasn't good enough, just google it.. or whatever.. I guess.
