Mukaparska 55 Posted December 16, 2014 I don't know whether it's the spawn system or a change in people's playstyle, but most of these cool encouters and moments I've experienced just happened in early 2014. Then during the summer they somehow become less common. I used to see others in 20 players servers rather often, and I remember a lot of good fights in the shipwreck I had with others and so on, but now on 40 player servers I'll see maybe one bambi in three hours. This is getting overwhelmingly boring. I don't really even see a reason to play this anymore. I guess people are so excited about these trucks and helicopter crashsites they're all just trying to find them along with other military gear. I have now sit 45 minutes on a cliff close to the shipwreck, and I have seen no one. I play in a 30 player server. There used to be someone nearly always looking for loot here, and I remember how nervous it made me every time I got here. Now I can just run here and not fear anyone, since no one is here. This sucks. I used to like this game.

Whyherro123 2283 Posted December 16, 2014 Uh....move then? You do realize a whole metropolitan corridor to the north (Svetlo/Novo/Severograd) was added a while back, and many people follow that road. And, yes, the spawns did change. You are no longer limited to NE coast spawns any more. Get off the coast, for one. Satisfy your PvP-boner inland, where almost everyone else is. TL;DR Bambikiller camps coast when everyone is inland, complains of boredom.
caik 122 Posted December 16, 2014 Most people have learned to avoid the shipwreck not because of bandits, but due to clunky controls and server lag it is too easy to faaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllllllll. *thump* Regards,Birthday Boy.

Blankki 7 Posted December 16, 2014 They haven't made a huge area we can play in only to be used for like 20% of the area. That's just stupid, it's good they have made many different points of interest for the whole area, and they should add even more interesting stuff all around for people to spread around to. Seeing other people rarely makes the encounters more intense and exciting. Sorry to say this, but this game isn't CoD.

Does an encounter mean PVP for you? Most encounters there's some bambi waving at me and continuing his doings, or another one asking me to kill him because he broke his leg. Only place where I regularly see guys is the NW airstrip, but i don't necessarily want to die by a full geared player. I mean, it's a "shoot everything that moves"-location. The game is just utterly boring. They should rename it to "Hiking simulator" and remove the zombies.

Mukaparska 55 Posted December 16, 2014 So you camp one spot over and over that is a HORRIBLE spot to pick up items you might want and wonder why you don't see anyone? <_<Because I just tested it. If everyone are running in circle, no one can find anyone, but if I'll stop, someone will eventually run at me. Well, they didn't.
Death By Crowbar 1213 Posted December 16, 2014 If you're hanging out around Berezino and the shipwreck that's your problem. People use a lot more of the map now. Also update your filters so you're not looking for max 40 - recall the max on stable is up to 50 now, if your max filter is still at 40 you'll be missing a lot of good populated servers.

This sucks. I used to like this game. I think the best 'meeting point' now is the town hall in Novodmitrovsk. Try hanging out there for a bit instead. Eventually, when more barricading options are implemented, you might be able to barrier-off the entrance to the ship and call it your home, if you like it so much there. Seeing other people rarely makes the encounters more intense and exciting. Sorry to say this, but this game isn't CoD.No it doesn't. It makes it even more tempting to become a serial killer if all you see is one bambi in a decade. Why would you just leave it be after wasting hours running around? Well, I always do that and ruin all the little fun I could have. I actually liked when people spawned on the coast. You always knew there was people, and inland actually had some loot. The main road was like a highway where lone travellers made their endless journeys. There was that one intersection in SE with a green house, a white house (not White House) and a road to inland, which was like a checkpoint and there was usually always someone. Not anymore... All dead and abandoned.

I remember last summer how I did a similar test in a building opposite of the town hall and camped there. I don't remember how much I waited, but then I saw a guy entering on top of the town hall and I shot him right in the head. He never knew what hit him. Give it some time. That doesn't change the fact it has become extremely boring. It's actually developer's fault for releasing their games in pre-alpha state. I hope the trend will go away in the next few years.

poster 23 Posted December 16, 2014 Sounds like you're upset that people aren't being killed as often to become bambi's for people to hunt. Try going down to Cherno or Elektro, you'll always run into a couple of people there. That's where I seem to find the most people, even on servers that are extremely low pop. Mukaparska 55 Posted December 16, 2014 If you can't have fun in a sandbox game it may just be you who is empty and boring.Well, running in the nature and exploring the map is actually pretty "fun", and when I started playing DayZ during the last christmas, I enjoyed it a lot. But basically doing that for a year just tends to get pretty boring. Yeah, sometimes I indeed see someone and even it leads to something semi-interesting, but it's not really worth it, especially recently when it happens like once in a week. Or there is, but extremely rarely. For example Mukaparska runs to a guy and the guy tries to kill him and Mukaparska runs and encounters another guy who kills the other one and then someone shoots us both. Also, ctie I've seen at least some activity are Berezino and the old NE town I never remember. I actually had two of my most recent encounters there, both were bambis.
