First Dissapointing Moment?

Recommended Posts

I've delt with invisible zombies, indestructible zombies, food glitches, I've dealt with EVERYTHING. My player was fully geared today, I wanted to get a beautiful view from the tower in The Lumber Mill. I was on the tower; glorious view. Until.. guess what? I slid through the metal railing, and fell to my death, and what makes it worse? I spawn RIGHT by the tower, it takes me 10 seconds, I get back to the location and I CANT EVEN FIND my dead body to grab my bag and gun and stuff!! Like what the hell??? Don't worry. Tomorrow I'm going to re-gear. My friend has a Mosin and a CRAP ton of ammo. Ill go through, find a blaze 95 double rifle, and ill settle for that, because my friend has 300+ bullets. Then we will go through, and I will "collect" more gear. Fun opportunities are now not possible (firefights, curtain situations) but now.. While I struggle to get re-geared with my friend. New opportunities arise.. Him having to watch my back, us having to stay alive. Me looking as less of a threat, when really, whoever is near me has a Mosin sniper strained on them, who is covering my back, willing to shoot on my word.. Yeah, SO WHAT I died from falling to my death from a dumb glitch. But guess what? Re-gearing is the fun part. If you call finding a Blaze 95, and shooting someone for their stuff, "re-gearing".. So if you die and lose everything, COMPLAINING isn't going to get your stuff back, moving on, and looking at the brighter side of things will.. Stay Frosty My Friends..

Post below, a time in DayZ, where you were just COMPLETLEY done, when you wanted to give up.. and Did... or... Didn't....

I left for a good 3-4 months after a certain patch that caused zombies to ruin all gear in 1-2 hits. Trying to keep 30 people geared up was impossible; and the whole game was nothing but run away-bandage, run away-bandage. Zombies would spawn about 2 feet away from you, instantly hitting you no matter what. I simply didn't even have the time to safely logout..it would take a good hour to get rid of all the pursuing zombies. So I took a nice long break, kept up with development, and joined back in. Had fun ever since. (Though only about 2-3 people from BoC are still around.)

Killing a sniper with my barefists to get stuck on a rock that later propelled me through the air until I fell and died.

That happened today, too.

I was laughing, to be honest. Laughing my ass off.

Happened in DayZ Mod.

Venturing through Berezino, got to the apartment blocks and gingerly went upstairs. Hadn't seen or heard anybody, but still took it slow. Got to the top floor and in one of the rooms was a fully geared guy in ghillie prone. I had my 1911 out and managed to get a headshot on him, and I survived unscathed. Opened up his body, and it was like Christmas come early (I was lone survivor on the mod, so military stuff was pretty alien to me as I tried to stay away from them places). Grabbed his suit, GPS, ammo, weapons etc etc, the lot. Thought I better leave Berezino in case he had friends around, so head towards the docks. Got caught out by some zombies, and tried to get away, but got cornered and killed by them.

It was fun being that geared for the 5 mins I was.

Yea, it can be nice down there every once in a while. However, our city is TOO damn crowded. :(

I've lost all my gear 30 or 40 times over the life of the mod and SA - it sucks but it happens.

Either I need more coffee.. or the OP needs to have a little less.

I really cant tell right now.

Im being honest here, not trolling.. the title poses a question, yet the body of the post tells a story and has only rhetorical questions at best.

I dont know what to do with this post except maybe tell a story of my own? Or like agree that looting up fresh is the name of the game.. having fun while you play at all times is key. Respawning is fun, and needing all that loot is just something that happens because you're not dying lately and have nothing else to besides match your clothing and get everything in pristine condition. But again, Im referenced to the title of the post which is what even brought me here... so I guess I have to tell about my first disappointing moment.

Everything in game I can accept. But the first time I was really disappointed in dayz was during an internet outage/server downtime thing that happened a long time ago.. I go to log in, all excited to get back into Chernarus.. was still fairly new at this point. And no servers. Nothing. I hit the forums to find out they are all down. It was like almost 24 hours straight and I was just going insane from the wait, having the time off work with nothing else to do but game.. it was tragic.

Besides that.. I actually have been entertained and laughed during bug deaths, hacker attacks, losing all my gear for no reason at all, deaths of all types, and anything else in game.

The irony of your post and your picture below is priceless. How do you set those again?

The patch that introduced the insane amount of rubber banding.

Gave up within 5 minutes of playing.

saw two well armoured guys who encountered a guy with the bow who said he's friendly.he didnt draw out his weapon or anything, infact he came towards them just to say hi. i was just an observer who waited for the armoured duo to leave.

they shot his legs in the middle of the street and axed him to death.

i pull out my newly found mosin with 3 rounds, fk it, yolo. I lay down and aim for their heads as they loot his body.

miss

one of the guys sprints off some extra 100m looking for me but in the wrong direction.Than, all of the sudden he turns around and just double tap snapshots me right in the face.

justice was not served :( i really wanted to save him or at least avange him but i failed.
