I use highlights to record a number of random kills during play as well as special moments during DayZ. I also like streaming without the clutter of webcam/chat interface so viewers get more immersion.

Hi there, i'm Dan from the UK. Just thought i'd introduce myself to the community.

 

I'm a massive fan of the game, and have racked up hundreds of hours in a fairly short time.

 

I love the way that the game makes you really think about your actions, as you are likely to instantly lose all your hard earned health and gear with one wrong move.

 

I recently decided to stream the game, as me and a few of my friends regularly play as a squad and get involved in a fair bit of tactical PVP. But i also enjoy roaming the coasts and RP'ing when i'm in on my own.

So i will go ahead and start it, anybody that streams dayz, either Standalone or the mod, just add your twitch.tv name and what time you stream, hopefully this will help a lot of people out with their views and followers!!

I have an extreme dislike of Twitch and it's users. Anecdotal, and YMMV, of course, but the one time I've watched a Twitch stream was when my friend showed me a stream of some girl wearing very little clothing playing "The Binding of Issac". People were offering to buy her stuff in the chat. She was drinking Mountain Dew, and playing up every stereotype of the "Gamer Gurl" as far as she could. Sorry, but that just ruined it for me. Plus, why would I watch someone else play a game?

So, no, I think I'll pass.

Not all of them are money grubbing asshats.

 

Some are just genuinely entertaining people. I dont watch them often but Ive found a few that are just hilarious to watch their streams. Clan wars, everyone is drinking.. things eventually go horribly wrong and everyone is laughing. If your bored it can be good fun. 

 

But there is an element of streamers that is just outright wrong and weird. I dont get why any sane person would donate over $30,000 to someone they have never met simply because they stream video games online via webcam style voyeurism. Its just weird. The ones that do it for social interaction and are just entertaining people to listen to and watch.. well, thats not so bad. 

 

Its like Porn. Some of it is really good. Like call in sick to work good. But most of it is just gut wrenching disgusting and makes you want to go wash your eyes out after seeing it.
