I really wanna like it but whats the point in this early alpha, if Zombies see you from a mile away, you cant outrun them, you cant kill them with anything! and the soon as a Zombie comes near you the game just lags like hell!! any help would be great or server recommendations cause I Love DayZ but my Mod one just doesn't seem to work at the moment and until I can fix that im stuck with the Alpha game. thanks Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

doomdude1 48 Posted October 25, 2014 - The lag is most likely on your end.- Zombies are currently broken like that. They have 180 cone vision (in front of them) but no hearing. Try to sneak behind them. If you get chased, just run a lot until they stop.- Kill zombies with any weapon but fists can't kill them, just knock them out. So if you are having issues with them I don´t want to think how you will handle PvP...I play with a laptop and only 5 megs internet and no lag issues here. trankin 59 Posted October 25, 2014 (edited) step one: cardio, being a fatty in the apocalypse wont help you now. zombies are slow and stupid make sure you are running and not jogging. step two: make sure you check your graphic settings turn them down especially your shadows they effect the game the most. step three: get a weapon they are everywhere any gun with ammo or a mele weapon will do get a fireaxe ,wood cutting axe, baseballbat ect ect. step four: be glad you didnt play before this last patch, zombies were even harder to hit back then they are easy as hell to kill now. step six: add me on steam porkyhorde i will help you learn the ropes if you need it. None and low being renderred by the CPU, turning them to High and above (Of what i heard) switches the renderring of the shadows from the CPU to the GPU instead...As for the guy who lags... Find the topic about launch parameters, check how to go in the dayz.cfg and turn down the maxframesahead things to 1... Should help you a bit, also make sure your GPU drivers are up to date... None and low being renderred by the CPU, turning them to High and above (Of what i heard) switches the renderring of the shadows from the CPU to the GPU instead... maybe but honestly with just about every game i ever pc gamed with shadows destroyed my fps and i can run most games on ultra graphics with like 50-70 fps depending on what im doing but if i turn shadows on it drops it to like 20-40 fps. dayz is glitchy as hell so it might be different for different graphic cards and processors. there are a lot of guides online to help you change your settings to get maximum fps. Weird glitch, I know, but if there's not really anyone around, try to lose zombies instead of killing them. Regular zombies can hear you, but they can only see so far. These latest patches (especially exp .50) have allowed you to hit a zombie Much eaiser. If you find a weapon or tool that can kill I prefer to take farming hoe, any Axe, pickaxe,pipe wrench, cattle prod w battery, stun baton w battery, and shovel. The rest are usually inacurate(.50 you can use any thing and it most likly will hit). When using fists to kill zombies use first person. First person makes life easier when fist fighting(unless your a master dayz 3rd person fist fighter that can hit heads easy).when running away from zombies have nothing in your hands and sprint and zigzagg it helps when in a city or random field. It sounds like your system might not be up to DayZ right now. This doesn't mean you have a bad computer, it's just that DayZ is not very well optimised. Laptop/desktop? What are your specs? If you have less than 8gb's of ram it's unlikely there is much you can do to get it any better. If you have 4gb's of ram, with an average graphics card you'll find you can run around for a while in the countryside and it'll seem ok, but the moment you go near a city or a zombie you'll drop to an unplayable frame per second rate. Right now, you need to expect to be playing on low settings and not getting much better than 20fps in a city. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
