So what do you guys mostly find at heli crashes?

So I think I checked around 30-40 helicrashes so far.

 

I found one 2 weeks ago, it had a lot of mags, acog scope, OE buttstock.

 

So on saturday I found one and It had an ammo box in it. Same day I found another, I checked it and it had an M4. A lot of mags again (like 2-3) there was another heli crash just 100m away or something, by the way the heli was at Zelenagorsk. So that day I found an M4 bayonette, M4 itself, a bunch of mags, Amphibia S, but I didn't take it. A few more -rare- (FNX holo sight or something) some weird sight that require batteries to use? stuff but I didn't bother picking up.

 

The next day (sunday) I found one more heli crash, this was on a 15 player server and It was at the middle of NWAF. Funny fact the NWAF itself was actually looted, I had no hope to find something at the heli crash, but I did. I found another M4 and that bone balaclava thing. I had the M4 in my hand and logged off, when I was back my character was reset.

 

 

 

No, more likley that it's a hacker. They are as common as fish in a pond. I hereby claim that there is atleast one hacker on every 40/40 server, but there must be more since I frequently run into them. I haven't seen a single legit player since the wipe with an M4.  I tracked 10 of my recent deaths 5 of them are due to hackers and one was unknown. Unfortunatly that is now in the graveyard. Playing this game is like being blackmailed by the mafia and the cops won't listen. Just as these suppressive mods that close everything related to the most pressing issue this game has. That said, that'll be my last post in a while.

 

 

Sorry to hear, I found my M4(s) in legit ways. I caught it on a really low pop server because of the ping it gives to EU players (200+) actually the server doesn't appear for them because everybody has their maximum ping at 100, this is a default value which DayZ comes with. I play on servers up than that ping value that is why I am never bothered by people who are joining around. 

 

Sidenote: I am not liable of any damage that occurs to you when you join a 200+ ping server, there zombies can hit you from 20m away, they can even spawn infront of you just to bitch around. Infact I have this feeling inside me the game spawns more zombies when your ping is high, whenever I join a low ping server I'm not encountering any zombies.

 

I don't go in to melee fights with zombies anymore, I shoot them with my AKM both for fun and to improve my aim.

A ridiculous assumption as I have not the capability or the knowledge to hack; however, I am smart enough to check the dayz map for spawns, then craft a route which enables me to efficiently search for helicopter spawns (credit to mookie for help) whilst server hopping.  

 

This I have found in total 3 M4's, all the attachments at every quality, black skull bala, mags upon mags, boxes upon boxes, grenades upon grenades but I have not found an FNX.  Really sad because it's a sexy sounding sidearm. 

 

I'm yet to find a helicrash. I ran for hours the other day with no luck.

 

When I do find one, I expect to also find dead people. Mwuaa ha ha ha!  B)

 

 

Whenever I die with this M4 and go searching for another, you can come with me and I'll show you the route I take.  That goes for anyone else too.  PM me for my steamid to add.

Not much they can do that they aren't doing already.  I can say that I've encountered them less as time goes on.  Maybe they get bored and stop playing?  There have been suggestions to help identify them like : You've been killed by messages, easier way to see player names and such.  But the devs have said that this isn't what the majority of the community would like to see so aside from making it easier to report them there really isn't anything they can share with us on what they are doing that wont alert the hackers.

I did get lucky with one and ended up with the FNX pistol.

 

Best guns I found were AK101s and AKMs w/o mags.

I never last long enough before losing them to:

(2) Scripting bugs (avoidable by staying away from stairs and hills)

Unlucky. My char doesn't get wiped often.

Hopefully I have my "tent" friend who doesn't play the game. I give valuable stuff to him to take back later. So the M4 I found at saturday is safe.

I have not encountered any players since 2 weeks now. This is also at high pop servers around NWAF. I have never encountered a hacker yet too.

The coast is full with people therefore hackers.

And you know, cooking steaks rock! There is a big cow spawn at Pushtoshka, infinite food all the way!

How do you know they were a hacker exactly? Did they teleport you around or make you randomly drop your stuff?

This is harsh. I also hate hackers but cursing someone because of a game is wrong.

Especially when there are people beheading others because of religion, hackers are nothing near those.

Unable to tell if this is now a thread about hacking, or about heli crashes, but to OP, if you want a comprehensive list of the items spawned at a UH60 (ie NATO) site, I think you can just click on a crash site on the dayzdb map.

 

An average unlooted crash site will spawn at least three or four M4 mags, three to four attachments in varying degrees of repair (this is random, but does include pristine ACOGs), a beret, a flare here and there, perhaps some glasses or a ballistic helmet. On top of that, but with a lower probability, are the 300 rnd boxes, FNXs, FNX mags, binos, flashbangs, frag grenades, and 7.62x39 boxes. The lowest of the low probability IME is M4s themselves, but I've found four of them in total since 0.49.

 

You won't really find clothing, apart from berets, although I think I've found a Blackskull balaclava at a UH60 site. Pretty sure you also won't find medkits or canteens - if you do, that's because someone's been there before and has discarded them.

 

A looted site will have telltale empty mags and loose ammo lying around; perhaps something discarded that doesn't spawn there, left by a player making inventory space. However, it's surprising how many people will leave attachments, or 60 mags (for example) because they're only looking for something specific.

 

People with pristine Magpul/ACOG M4s may be hacking. Or, as mentioned above, they may be players who have just been alive so long and have heli-hunted so determinedly that they have actually found what you have yet to find.

"Wrong" is a subjective term.  If he believes that wishing bodily harm to people who cheat is an acceptable thing, then to him it will be.  The people beheading certainly do not think they are doing anything wrong, and I'm sure on some level cheaters and hackers believe this as well.  The relevance that holds to people will be different for each one.  So to assume that how he feels about cheaters is wrong because it's not subjectively as serious of a notion as beheading people for whatever reason you see fit can be seen as "wrong" as his idea.

Also to the OP:  if you use the "search" function on the DayZDB map it could help you.  It will relegate markers on the map to where that item has spawn chances.  I had a pristine M4 for about 9 days with a pristine ACOG site, only to lose it to a death inside of the red 2 story building in Cherno behind the fireplace.  I was told that the room with the TV in it would just randomly kill you if you got too close to the TV sometimes so I went into the other room.  I spent the previous 10 minutes clearing the high spots in the city, as well as the market and the houses on my way to this red house.  When I crouch walked into the corner near the window and looked out, anything that had an angle on me from a higher vantage point was clear.  I then was instantly and silently killed.  My leg was painful then I was dead.  No gunshots or anything.  It took me about a week to get the M4 with a pristine ACOG.  And now currently I am holding a worn acog for my next m4.  It takes time.

Instead of cursing the hackers, the developers should fix the hacks (I know they are already) and the people should NOT hack. Just because you hack doesn't mean you gotta die.

Last night I found 2 40 round and 4 30 round magazines for the M4 full with ammo at a crash site, but no M4. Found a AK-101 and a mag for it a little later. I emptied out the NATO mags and dumped them, fired off 200 5.56 rounds at zeds then lucked out again found a AKM and two 75 round drums in a barracks a little while later. That's the only heli I've found so far and it was just south of the NWAF tents.
