Wow, what a map!

Yeah, yeah i'm 2 years late to the party but better late than never! :)

I played the original mod from may 2012 untill about July the same year. The early days. Then got the standalone at the turn of this year and have been playing it on and off since ( 400 hours) so i decided to give the mod another shot. Reinstalled combined ops and the dlc, played the mod a bit but couldn't get back into it. I think i am just bored shitless of Chernarus!!

I remember watching a few vids of Frankie on PC's or whatever he's called and remembered a snowy map with harsh conditions. After a little research i found this map is called Namalsk. So gave it s shot.

What an amazing map this is. Incredible atmosphere. Obviously the maker loved the Stalker games! Even has Bloodsuckers lol. Love that i have to keep warm and food is scarce.

So if you're sick of chernarus and/or the standalone in general and fancy a change i seriously recommend downloading Namalsk. I can't stop playing it at the moment :)

It's my favorite map from the different DayZ mods. I'm hoping that when we get mods for the stand alone, someone will make a version of it in the SA.

  Namalsk is amazing!

my favorite map as well I hope to god they make it for SA when its all said and done folks bitch and moan about cold but that map had you hoarding heatpacks and painkillers like a boss especially if you got a good server with EVR storms and bloodsuckers turned on.

Ah, I fondly remember this map. Back when it was originally made for OFP as a SP campaign, and then ported to ArmA1 and 2. Good times.

I remember having a full geared guy on the public Namalsk HIVE (2x winter clothes, DMR, Gauss Rifle etc.), around 2012-13.

..I don't suppose my character would be still alive and working eh? :D

Namalsk is very nice but gets a bit bland and is obviously a little small. I agree Napf is a brilliant map too!

Anyone know of any Namalsk server with a decent population and none of the "billion vehicles, self blood bag, start with all items" or Epoch stuff?

Anyone know of any Namalsk server with a decent population and none of the "billion vehicles, self blood bag, start with all items" or Epoch stuff?

I had a hardcore survival server on Namalsk. A very tough map, death behind every wrong decision. It had almost no interest as DayZmod players are only interested in PvP and shopping. I'm trying to gather interest to relaunch the server but it's very tough going. Either the hardcore DayZ players hate Epoch, or Epoch players hate survival. Would you/anyone be interested?

I have a very high performance Namalsk server up and running that needs a good population.  Only additions have been self-bloodbag and remove clothing.  Check my signature and give it a try.

Looking for sth like this for a while. Extreme realism both concerning threats but also possibilities. Winter storms are very real, self-BB and remove clothing also is.

I just feel like there is not a ton of players looking for that kind of experience, probably they don't think vanilla needs more realism.

Why would hardcore vanilla players hate base building, if it can only be archived if you are a masterful survivor?

It's not for everyone, don't forget that you need to spend many hours archieving a little bit of something on this kind of server. Not everyone out there has got that free time for gaming.

If I can only play for a few hours a week I do not want to spend them on running across the map just to starve. One of the reasons Overpoch is so popular. Instant fun in DayZ universe.

A populated hardcore-realism Epoch server would sure be a nice thing!

Pretty much. I would love a super hardcore survival server on Namalsk, but no epoch plz. Massively reduced loot, reduced vehicles, death from cold, etc.

AI traders = Instant turn off.

Safe zone = Instant turn off.

economy = instant turn off.

Basicly nutt up and bargain with other actual players (and risk death/robbery in the process) or spend days staggering around the map hopeing for the one thing you need.

My friend. I have exactly what you need. FINALdayZnamalsk is back up. It's interesting to see more players like yourself rising above the maelstrom of gun nuts and shopping addicts lately. Please read my server advert and see what you think. I have a clutch of hardcore players who'd be glad to answer any questions you might have or I'll gladly entertain any suggestions you make regarding the server setup.
