Starting to think I'm too nice of a player.

Recommended Posts

Found a guy at the NW airfield and I should have killed him, there was a dead body near him and I heard gunshots earlier then he said "Friendly."

After maybe a minute of talking he asked if I had any AKM ammo, I gave him three of my seven magazines which he then proceeded to kill me with whilst laughing into his microphone (In a mocking manner.)

I'll use this as a learning experience.

NEVER give ammo to strangers....*i sometimes ask People for ammo and IF they are stupid enough to give me sopme i feel the urge to test the firingmode of my respective firearm on their toon.

you learned a valuable lesson today kid...now go forth and learn more !

There are no friendly players near military loot. Ever.

Not true...i got patched up, leg fixed and Food/water from a Group of 4 fully geard guys in NEAF back when it was a hotspot. *note...this only happend ONCE. Oh and a ceasfire we and another Group agreed on after a Exchange of bullets.

I'm a friendly player near military loot, and I made a good friend at the NW airfield once. (Probably one of the most trustworthy people I've ever met, didn't kill me whilst I used the washroom, but a hacker separated us and I've been on a quest to find him ever since.

I think I'm never going to give ammo to a stranger ever again.

Oh my, I even had a change to knock him down.

He was hiding in a bush and I was behind him (Probably preparing to kill me, and he was near a dead body so what the hell was I thinking?)

I met a friendly at veresnik once. we were outside of the wall and I bumped into him just as I was about to rush a zed next to the barracks building I was aiming for. he scared the shit outta me too but we decided to raid it together. he said his name was Phillip (so if you are reading this Phillip it was on experimental and we did meet again) and he was pretty well geared up. he was very polite and even opened the doors for me and cleared the rooms at the camo building (jail for some). when I came back out of the camo building he had spread all of his gear out on the ground and asked if I needed anything but I was after an LRS and some other little mucky muck thing I can't remember and he had none of that. I thanked him kindly and we parted ways after I offered directions to zelenogorsk. I went behind veresnik hill and logged out to contemplate a friendly at a military base. the next day was not so kind. as I had logged out so close to the base the day before I decided to raid it one more time before moving on. I found the LRS I had been looking for and figured I would check one more barracks before leaving when someone stepped out and shot me in the head without so much as a fuck you.

I respawed in svetlo and considered suicide as I hate that place when I ran into another friendly.... yes it was indeed Phillip again and as before he had gear to spare and offer, this time I kindly accepted his charity :)

so sometimes you find a friendly and sometimes you find a saint.

Yeah, I just don't trust people near mil loot. The other day I tried to make an exception, it was a low pop server so I figured competition would be less. I'm looking around Balota airfield and then I see a guy. I decide to wave "Hi" with f1 and show I'm not hostile, I wasn't sure if he was in mic range or not. Sure enough he crouches around some sandbags and takes a shot. It must have been a sporter because it ruined my pants but didn't cause a bleeder. Still, it caused my screen to go all blurry due to that silly display bug and so I got out of there. I was lucky really and so was he, my mosin likely wouldn't have just ruined his pants when I first saw him.

Now the dynamic that happens sometimes seems to be that on full Servers we almost NEVER *or recently a bit more freqently after NEAF was civilized* meet other Players up there. *or in elektro, or cherno or balota* On the contrary i got KOS´ed more even on nightservers with 3 People on all of us trying our luck at the airfields....

Blurry is not a bug but happens when your health is low.

The dumbest thing I ever did in DayZ was shooting some guy that looked like bad news but having second thoughts when I saw him running. So I followed him and managed to sneak up upon him as he was laying down. But instead of just putting him out of his misery I tried to talk to him - forgetting that you can spin around on your belly in no time. So he spun around on his belly in no time and shot me. Unloaded my magazine inside him but then I passed out from blood loss.

In general I am very careful with giving weapons or ammo to strangers but until now whenever I actually did it worked out pretty well.

It's a bug when it doesn't go away when you've recovered.

DayZ is lot about human interaction even though it often ends up in firefight or axe duel.

Play the way you deem right, just be more careful in general.

I've met a lot of friendly people, they are out there!

If you click "Video" in the config setting, the blurry vision goes away - there is a bug associated with it which means that you can get hit from a zombie and your vision goes blurry and starys that was until you click the video option in settings

Even though it's only a game, it shows that player had no honour.

The in-game character is not alive obviously, but the person controlling it is.

For him to shoot you and mock your generosity and trust after you gave him valuable stuff shows their real-life character to a degree.

If I had a wad of chewing tobacco, I'd spit to show my contempt of his actions.

same man... I constantly complain about having nothing to shoot, but when I find someone I can't bring myself to pull the trigger... even if he is a bandit, and just killed a fresh spawn... I usually just fire close to him and chase him off. If he stays I kill him, but if he runs I just let him go.... I have only killed one dude this way... in 70 hours of game-play

The other guy I killed before (I have killed 2 guys) spawned in to a military base (right in front of me). I didn't have a clip in my gun, just a chambered bullet so I had to put him down I guess. While looting him I noticed he had a spotter instead of, and AK like I original thought... Had zero ammo too... felt terrible.

If you want to give ammo to someone, tell them to run in the opposite direction so they are a few hundred meters away from you, then drop the ammo and run away.

Or tell them you'll give them ammo but you will take their gun and drop it off a few hundred meters away.

That's not true ! I met a person at the balota airfield the other day on a full server it just takes two like souls (friendlies) to come together at the same time , the hard part is truly trusting the person ...

Many kill within the first fifteen minutes of meeting someone else , if they are with another the usually kill on sight or wait til the very end of 15 minutes to build suspense within each other so the kill is greater which sucks cuz you truly believe you just found two friendlies until you get tortured by them lol ..

But to the Original poster : don't lose your friendly ways ! We need more friendlies like you to help survive in this game , just never lose sight of what's really important to most , your gear :P and never give a friendly a gun or ammo until they've defended you with a weapon against another (as that usually shows trust towards you) .

People that I run into on experimental see to be a bit friendlier than in stable. That being said, people are still assholish but I've met far more friendlies on exp than stable. My rule is never trust people at military spawns or people who have guns, even a sporter. I don't outright shoot people at military spawns but I will observe them and when they start being sketchy I start shooting

Found a guy at NWAF, shoot him in the leg. then he said *friendly*. He only had a sporter, gave him my M4 with ammo which I found at a wreck nearby and fixed his foot. Then he took a shot at me. So I broke his neck took the M4 and fired. Let the zombies finish him off. Then threw a nade at the body and the zombies. Which blew them up into pieces. Then I walked away... I'm still trying to be friendly. Even tho their a bunch of CoD-kids that will fire at you even after you helped them.

Kudos for attempting to help a survivor.

Tisk tisk for helping the wrong guy in the wrong place in a shady situation!

I never give anyone ammo while they are in a position to shot me.  That is not to say I haven't give it out but I always make sure to drop it someplace away from the player, giving myself time to clear the area.  I just don't trust anyone I have only known a few minutes (especially in an open world PvP game).
