ROCKETS WACKY ROADMAP and PS4! what? u serius bro?

look I'm all fer this early access pre alpha business it works sweet for some games but cam on Devs pull yer fingers out and get a bleedin move on, the map looks great LEAVE THE MAP FORHGET NEW TOWNS AND SHINY LAMP POSTS stop adding CLOTHES WILL YER and start work on the Broken unplayable  broken engine.

 

Every time I get an update me heart sinks when I read through the nonsense patch notes, always plenty of new items and additions to crafting etc but never ever ever any real progress with zombies or loot spawns or ballistics or FPS issues or LAG or player movement EVERYTHING IS GETTING WORSE NOT BETTER.

 

LOOK, CAM ON FELLAS, a jokes a joke, I'm all fer a giggle and a laugh but this is getting embarrassing , we are getting close to Q3 on rockets wacky road map and we are miles away from a truly playable game, LIKE I SAID LEAVE THE MAP ALONE SON STOP WITH THE MAP WE DONT NEED NO MORE FU£$IN TOWNS SON we need smooth fps and no lag and HOTKEYS THAT WORK THAT DONT REQUIRE 20 STRIKES ON THE KEYBOARD TO REGISTER.

 

SORT THEM PRIORITES OUT, you hired a load of artists when you should of hired a load of serious coders you are talking aboit PS4 but the PC version is looking absolute (excuse me French) SHITE

I don't think you listen to every thing rocket said, nor the 1700 people who are now working on dayz and what they do... they did not only hire artists. Keep in mind that even a pro coder needs to learn a new engine, that knowledge does not come falling from the sky...

you clearly know nothing about what alpha means? For one it means adding a ton of features, items and new things to play with, they will also try to fix any BAD bugs and glitchs that make the alpha testing more bearable. Still with me so far? Good, because BETA is when most items and features have been added and they then go on to fine tune everything else & fix all the remaining issues and bugs before they can finally wrap it all up and go to final release state.

 

Secondly, yes they are eventually going to port it over to PS4.......................................................

you think that they are going to release it on ps4 next week? Or maybe when the PC version gets to release status? I can see a lot of these topics are basically wash, recycle repeat, of the same thing over and over. Also for the people saying a ps4 version is bad... And? so what if it is? How is a consolve version of the game going to interrupt your pc gaming if at all? Don't worry about it, if you don't want to play it on ps4 then don't. It won't affect you in the slightest

the programmers job is to fix that other shit.

just hope that the new engine is the reason for setback and not some deviously conceived marketing department statement released to stall for lack of content working the way intended at the moment ....

well he has one point there, i see no reason why there should be made an effort right now to port the game to the PS4 when they have so much more stuff undone

 

and yes, porting it to the PS4 will take time from ACTUAL CODERS, not designers

 

who knows, maybe we will get an fps boost from it, since the PS4 has an 8-Core and needs good multicore usage...

For god's sake, the words rocket said on Gamescon were "DayZ will come to PS4 in under 3 years" and some people act like they actively stop developing the pc version now and only stick to the PS4 stuff right after the announcement.

 

Also, OP seems to think modeling and texturing a pair of pants take the same time as renewing a video game engine bit by bit. Ofc the devs can add smaller stuff like items, crafting reciepes etc in a higher frequency than big updates like navmesh, collision updates, dx11 support. Btw in case you didn't know: There wont be an update saying "we are now on the new engine". We already are. They replace the old engine part by part with every update.

 

And to make this clear: To port a game to PS4 you need a game in first place. DayZ is no game yet, its a game in development. Neither will they port the current build to PS4, nor will they start to sell Alphas for PS4. Dean only said DayZ should be out for PS4 in under 3 years.

 

For me it says more like "Dont worry, DayZ community, you will get your finished product before mid-2017". Great news ! ( lol )

You didn't read rest of the posts did you?

Hats and items are 3d artists and modellers responsibility. New towns are just duplicates of other buildings seen in chernaurus. All these already have prefabs, so it's a simple drag and drop. Just because they have issues with game engine and scripting, they shouldn't stall everything else. So broken zombies aren't hats fault.

1700 people working on DayZ?

They had only 35 for the longest time long after tens of millions in revenue and had to be dragged kicking and screaming into hiring up to 75 people by June I think. When the hell did they hire 1700?
