MG9207 12 Posted August 4, 2014 In the world of DayZ even that woman from your avatar, would still be shot on sight. :PWhatever moving is executed.Wel that would be stupid, i think humanity could use re-population during a post zombie apocalypse :3. You should then become a psycopathic medic who inject wrong blood tipes into people and laugh while they dieYou give me ideas, i'll check outt if i can drain a zombie with a needle. A brave but useless sacrifice. That town is the devils lair.Whas not a sacrifice but more so a idea of having a purpose in the game. Now my purpose have been changed to shoot anybody and be a ''surviver'', i'm not a bandit...just a surviver now ^^

plexico 386 Posted August 5, 2014 Well, you went into Berezino, you ran through it shouting that you were a medic, and you exposed yourself to everybody there. What did you expect to happen?

MG9207 12 Posted August 5, 2014 The only person who should be getting face palmed is you for thinking you wouldn't be shot.I wasn't thinking that. My intention whas to be role playing a positive character whom everybody would love to encounter.Play Day z in a different way then getting geared and kos'ing. But i'm getting the hang of it now so apologise my attempt ;)

Dagwood 680 Posted August 5, 2014 Next time just be a batman medic working from the shadows. Stalk a KOSer in berezino and when he goes down.... strike! Hit him with a bandage, a saline bag, maybe some morphine, and an epi pen if you're feeling daring. Just be sure to whisper sweet nothings into his ear the whole time.
scriptfactory 620 Posted August 5, 2014 Your first mistake was thinking that DayZ was a post-apocalyptic survival simulator. It is not. I've come to realize that it's a realistic combat simulator with base-building, survival elements and zombies. Realistic Minecraft with PvP, if you will. Seriously i even had no gun to pose a threat. Hey man. I am a medic too. Although the new red and blue medic suits are cool, I don't wear them. My outfit so far was blue backpack and UN helmet, but the UN helmet is like a beacon, especially at night.Unfortunately, as someone said, there is no need for medic right now in terms that somebody will run to you and ask for help.I just carry my standard medical supplies but go about in camo gear. My medical practice has come down to fixing my buddies after a firefight with epinephrine, morphine and saline bags.Strangers won't even let you close in 99% of the cases to be able to help them, so be very carefull, hide, and most important, alow yourself a decent amount of time to communicate your message through the mic. Saying "friendly, medic" does not work here. You gotta elaborate your mission and convince people they will be safe. My tactic is to first make them lower their weapon, even if I have to hold them at gun point. I was running around without a gun in my hand (that was my policy, to show I am friendly) until recently, but that got me nowhere. After they lower the weapon, I immediately throw some food on the floor and that often works and makes them more friendly, I guess sharing food is a natural sign of good will.Just keep trying man, do not give up. You will be shoot, punched and chased by people you helped but thats the life of a medic. ;) Edited August 5, 2014 by Calvin Candie

Tatanko 5591 Posted August 5, 2014 no specialized Medics are needed right now, thus making them just another moving target...in red... :DNot true! I think roleplaying as one is currently pointless (as the OP has demonstrated, unfortunately); but medics are definitely needed. Trusted Medics of the Wasteland and the Reddit Rescue Force are two great examples of how medical knowledge and a willingness to help can be very appreciated and useful in Chernarus. I've enlisted the help of the RRF on one occasion and was definitely thankful for it, even if it was just a broken leg (prior to the implementation of splints). When it's organized the way these two groups handle their business, it's actually quite safe for the medics too... they rarely travel alone and they're very good at what they do. They're all veteran players who know how to handle anything that is thrown at them. I almost never run into another player and come out on the other side by using violence. Nearly every encounter I've had lately was able to be diffused in one way or another, and I've been helped by others nearly as much as I've helped other people. I dont go looking for people to kill but if i cross paths with someone, i will kill them if they are armed as I know they would try the same with me.
