Well, people did ask for more zombies

...and you wish was granted, got to play properly last night for the fist time since the new update, me and my team found out just how dangerous zombies are now. All it takes is one gunshot in a town and all hell breaks loose, by the end of the night we were all out of ammo and using axes. Some zombies still do glitch through walls, but at one point we were hiding in one of the jaiIs to stop zombies from getting at us. We were so unprepared for the relentless waves of zombies that centred on our position we ran out of ammo so quickly. I sure hope this lowers camping and kill on sight players because ammo is now much more valuable. And now i hear they are adding bears too. Finally this game is becoming more progressive with the player vs enviornment aspect.

I was actually forced to team up with a stranger today. Shared ammo and had a great time mowing down zeds.

Of course he still ended up shooting and killing me but there was at least a brief moment of trust.

Define "annoying". Getting constantly attacked by zombies= annoying? I fear that's the way it should be. If you just think that it's annoying that the zombies still clip through walls like crazy and the hitboxes are pretty small in melee, then yes, that's annoying. But bigger number of zombies, isn't annoying, that's great imho.

They are dangerous because they hit you while standing outside of the house you're hiding in or while standing in the 1st floor when you are on the 2nd.

 

They are also annoying because you can't outmanouver them. They see you from 500meters easily, through walls and if you are on a slightly higher ground, they'll always see you. You kill them, they respawn and come at you again with instant aggro.

Zombies are slowly getting better. I'm pretty psyched about the hoppers and crawlers.   It's a lot harder to nail them on the move now.   Gives me a reason to actually FIRE my weapons for once.  (especially since melee is borked for the moment)

It really does make sense that walking into a big city will be met by hordes of zombies now, it makes you second guess how to deal with them. If you can sneak past one with its back to you, but as soon as the crackhead females come screeching your way and the noob in your group opens fire in panic, you are going to have a bad day. At one point it actually seemed like a scene from 28 days later when about 6 zombies were running down a side street at us and we got into a massive firefight trying to mow them down while avoiding shooting each other.

 

The wall glitching, 10 foor reach and injuring you from the floor below is annoying, but its still progress. 50% still look through the window at you or wait by the door for you to open it, but thats still 50% more improved than 0.46 when all zombies would run in through a wall

my problem is not with zombies, or the broken melee weapons, i can get used to them. my problems lie in the directions of the LMB bug, the hideous lag that occurs in cities, where i cant move and the zombies can still hit you, and the way that zombies can hit you through floors.

 

it was a combination of these factors that lost me my longest living and fully geared regular guy earlier today.

 

like i said, i can get used to more zombies and broken systems, but the lag, i can't do anything about, and that gets to me.

there are more yes. before you would only get one or two, possibly 3 zombies come after you in stary sobor. Last night we had 8 charge from all directions and after they fell, another wave came in and another, we had to run out of town just to get a breather and plug some fingers in the various seeping holes we ended up with. and that was with 5 of us all armed

I don't know if my client is bugged or something, but I spent all morning in that new city on a nearly full 40 player server.  I didn't see a single player or zombie.  I got bored and alt-f4.

Always said that they need to revamp the aggro and give the player a bit of a stealth capability before adding any more zombies.

 

The insta-respawn, pre-aggro, system is ridiculous.

I don't mind MORE zombies at all. It just seems like the melee hit registration is WAY off. I had to swing my axe like a madman just to connect once. And I know most of my swings were dead on. That's what was frustrating me more than anything. Had a blast when we finally opened fire and started the shitstorm of  zombies in town, though we did have to eventually sprint for the trees. The insta-agro is just wrong as well.

The other problem my friends were having is that new spawn is almost impossible now. As soon as you spawn you are being attacked and you can't hit back with any amount of success. If you don't have a weapon instantly you are screwed. That to me is a game breaker. You should at least have a CHANCE when you start over.

Oh, I noticed more zombies.  This was the first time I had 3 chasing me after a gunshot.  Now I feel the need to get the internally silenced hand gun. 

 

Thank you devs BUT....  Need more zombies.  I want to go to NWAF and see a sea of zombies after a firefight between snipers and wall clippers. 

 

Maybe even add a zombie milkman. :lol:

i've been killed 4 that's right 4 times in row just because i spawn in with a horde on my back,i am so pissed right now.such bullshit maybe i'll lay off DayZ for a while to cool me down.

Up Front: Yes, that needs to change.

 

What you can do about it for now - Outside of the unexpected server reset (SOL) you can log off in unlikely zombie spawn points.  It is a workaround, not a fix, but what else can you do?

I don't mind the increase in the numbers/spawning of zombies, what I do mind is the apparent ability of zombies to aggro from 400m away(without firing a shot). I got used to not firing my weapon after I burned through all of my magnum ammo. Melee is still broken, but I haven't died from zombies yet, even as Mike Tyson. I did ruin quite a few shirts though.

I dont know whys everyone so bothered with zombies and the fact that hiting a zombie now is a bigger problem, seems to me that for most of the people complaining about them would be better just without zombies, then they can continue they pvp in Berezino. Anyone ever tryed to hit a zombie with an axe in real life? Didnt think so... For me hitting a zombie right now in dayz is a chalange, its not hard to figure it out, dont get so close to zombie like you want to kiss him, 1m away, swing like you would in real life (i know whats coming) and bam, zombie down. Its easy

I wouldn't say it's easy, because melee attacks that should connect simply don't. I will say that once you figure out how it's broken it becomes much easier.

In numerous patches of the mod you spawned with no weapon and no unarmed melee... Wasn't a game breaker then. Just added another stage to the survivor life cycle.

It's both amusing and disappointing how little effort some people are willing to put into adapting to changes. Instead they whine and demand that the developers cater to their exact gameplay desires.

Anyone ever think that maybe they pushed this bugged melee system to stable to test ammo scarcity?
