Your Personal Base Location Ideas.

I think it's safe to say we're all excited for base building. From minor things such as boarding up windows or small tents, to the far fetched ideas like underground bunkers or DayZ Epoch-syle building, we all want a purpose to playing this game rather than gearing up, killing people, dying, then gearing up again. (or in my case, gearing up, getting bored, leaving for a day, joining a server, and having my character get reset.)

A way to keep myself occupied for the time being is to wander around Chernarus looking for the perfect spots not only to build my own personal base, but also a separate location to build a Police/Military run UN-style base for survivors to come for supplies or shelter.

So here's my ideal base location so far. Unfortunately it's not too far from military bases where people could easily grab a gun and attack. But a plus side is that there's only 2 realistic directions one could come from in order to actually attack.

Post your ideas for base locations below! Chances are the map will change so much you might have second guesses before base building comes out, so don't be shy! Your base will only be on one server when base building is released anyways.

Hmm a viable choice there but um i aint telling you my ideas for a camping spot the whole intent of hiding your camping spot is so others dont find it! But personally id be focusing more on a natural location with water for drinking fishing good hunting locations thats not to far or to close to a medium sized town for general supplies and for these requirements there is a few good examples ill let you guess which one ill choose lol.

Well yeah, I don't expect anyone to put their personal base ideas out there, which is why I didn't. I just put the big "help survivors" base idea out there because eventually (hopefully soon) I will build this with my friends or squad and advertise it.

Ah its an idea for a hero help survivour base then i see only 1 flaw in its location those needing help will be in the north east corner if they have made it all the way to the south west corner then i would assume they have found the supplies and have the skills to survive. But a noble intent beanz from me.

I wanted to make this base something like the one from I Am Legend where they had to travel months in order to reach it. I wanted it to be more of a long term goal to reach rather than a straight forward destination.

Hopefully in the future zombies become so hard to survive against that we as survivors are forced to team up with random strangers purely because if we didn't, we would die out there. I want the player to feel as if he/she is truly a part of the last remnants of humanity and that their life is not expendable. If the zombie infection could be transferred to players after they are bitten (rare chance) then that would give this base a purpose because we could have the cure. And that is definitely worth travelling across the map for. Or fighting over. Your choice.

Been there, thought about the location and it's not good.

Mainly because it's going to have people blowing by. People like me who went to that location just to see what is at the bottom left of the map.

In terms of facilities it's good, but geographically it's a place of interest and if you are attacked by organised force you are cornered.

in the far northeast, halfway between svetlo and dobroe, there's a military building on its own that not too many people go to.  from there you can quickly get to all those cities nearby for supplies.  there's also a handy well just down the road from it, and the whole area seems zombie-free.  good place to operate from when you first respawn.

My mission will be search for other players bases so i don't have to go through all the hard work myself.

But naw, Myshkino will be my home as it always is. Hopefully I'll be able to finally board up that god damn barn north of it and live the rest of my life in peace.

I'm just going to find an area that has the "Basics" that is out of the most traveled parts of Chernarus so that it wont be so easy to find, and I'll be able to defend it easily.

Eh, well we know the game will be viable for lone survivors, so I am not so sure about the need for a camp like this. Like others have said, if you have a destination that takes a long journey to reach, you can be fairly sure the only players to reach it would be at least somewhat skilled. What could you offer them that they can't get themselves? Then again putting it near spawn points opens it up to all sorts of other issues, so I wonder if this type of thing will ever be viable. I do think 'server events' where invitations are extended can be similar to this. But it won't be a permanent settlement, just a place for the day or weekend of the event.

 

Then again, the entire map might just be a placeholder until later on, when the SA game gets a new map that is more like New York City. It's really hard to say at this point.
