End game content?

What's the point of this game once you're all geared up? Cars and craftable buildings will be amazing, don't get me wrong, but once you've built your base and got your car all pimped up, what's the point of playing anymore? I know lots of you will say either killing each other or interaction. DayZ gun mechanics aren't great, and if I want to play PvP I just go on ARMA 3, a game purely for PvP. Also, I hate user interaction, as I normally end up dead or giving someone stuff because I always end up helping people. I play with some great guys, and don't want any more to play with me. So, the question still stands, what is there to do once geared up?

Once you have built your base and all geared up, then it's time to protect that base and stay alive for as long as you can until you die and its game over. It's all there is, it's a survival sim....and there's alot of roleplaying possibilities in this game so if you're creative there is plenty of shit too do...

Probably holding on to it for as long as you can. Maintaining your clothes/guns/equipment/vehicles/base - all of those things will degrade when used in future versions of the game. Some other activities the game will present which we don't know about yet.

All in all, DayZ will suffer the same fate as any other game - it will fade away into history of gaming, as it should, as players turn to something new. The game is not your life, you can't expect it to entertain you until you die. Although DayZ has a much bigger sack of possible activities that other games due to being sandbox i.e. It's as elaborate or dumb as the player who is playing it.

I hate user interaction

Why did you buy the game then? This game is based purely around player interaction and survival. To answer your question though,

who the fuck knows..

That question is seriously impossible to answer. Thats what makes this game unique, you can do whatever you want.

Game is not even half finished, majority of features probably missing, so I don't think you can expect an answer right now.

If they really add all those diseases, weather causing hypothermia and such stuff, then surviving will become quite a challenge in itself.

And yes, interaction and PvP (that often ensues) plays major role in DayZ, same as it did in mod.

If you are new to DayZ, then I guess I understand why you ask, if you have played mod, then you should already know what's what.

Lastly if SA at some point will be given to the modding community, you can expect tons of variable SA mods, each providing different play experience to some degree (some having no diseases and tons of weapons, other the other way around etc).

EDIT: But to answer your question more directly, for me it is to having fun playing....

I can answer that one for the OP as I want to have a voice in the matter.

You're right and wrong. The game is purely based around survival but not around player interaction. Having other players around is not essential to your survival.

As I see it, there isn't an 'end game'. There is just 'game'.

True enough, but Rocket and several other devs have made player interaction a huge part of this game. It was mentioned as a reason for gear being ruined when you get shot to try to stop KOS so people actually have to interact.

End game? This game has permadeath there is no end game. This isn't WoW... You'll never have a max level or be "fully geared" you can only have what want at best.

There is no ending raid, no box for you to check off and say "done." You decide when you're done, the "End Game" is what you decide it is.

That really has not stopped anything though. It just makes ppl troll harder. Iv seen ppl go as far as after killing the guy to make sure every damn thing on there body is ruined afterwards so no one can have a chance.

Thats up to you. You can maintain your gear status and protect your base while ensuring your groups survival, you can leave for an exploration tour to learn new things and how others left their footprints in the world, you can try to make the DayZ world a better place by building a community or you can go out raiding other bases or hunting down the most dangerous prey. And there are probably many other option available.

"Endgame" is somewhat misleading though as the game has no defined start and no defined end. Its more cyclic.

That's the nature of a sandbox. Your limit is your imagination.

Yeah, bandits will be bandits I suppose.. Oh well. Just have to wait for the game to be more developed and maybe then it will help the problem..

In a game like this , players make their own End-Game.

  • having a base barricaded with every weapon under the sun in storage, plus three cars and a helicopter ready to go.
  • seeing how many players they can hunt and kill in one session.
  • making new friends, socialising with new players and helping people when they need it.
  • Clan Wars and base attacks, Looting and stealing from other peoples stashes.
  • The sense of community when a car or helicopter is fully repaired after hours of hard work.
  • finding the super rare, server loot controlled Night Vision goggles, or Sniper Rifle.
  • trolling newspawns, handcuffing, force feeding, shooting and punching to death.
  • roleplaying scenarios, and organising group events.
  • exploring all the game mechanics, hunting, fishing , survival, pvp, looting and barricading.

The game is what you make of it. In my opinion it's never the destination, but the journey - And each update will give you more ways to find your own endgame.

Hope this helps :)

The End Game in DayZ is different than Arma because DayZ is not, I repeat is NOT, a pure PVP FPS. DayZ is a survival game, you always have the choice to engage someone or not. It's not Quake 3 or HL2 Deathmatch itchy trigger finger every man for himself.

endgame is EVERYTHING that happens after you wash up on the beach, or spawn in the forest as it were..

its a sandbox you have to make up your own content, its the entire point of a sandbox game.

What's the point of CS:GO?

What's the point of Battlefield if you have all weapons, achievements, skins and the highest rank?

What's the point of Rise of Nations if you have cheats?

Fun dude. Fun. You can go outside to have fun too, if you don't like games.

either killing each other or interaction

And most importantly "surviving". If you dont get this, frankly, you've missed the point of what DayZ is and how it is radically different from any other games out there. But if you prefer and in short, there is no "end game" nor there will ever be, unless in a modded version perhaps.

Just look around the community and you will see just how much can be done and yet to be created, content/story wise. Silo, a great youtuber/streamer had a Manhunt recently with 35 players against 5.

Not really, no. Most major features are in now perhaps with execption of a game changer that is persistence of loot/gear collected. but either way there wont ever be an answer!

"End Game" is a dragon with 4 heads in another dimension. I agree with other posters, in DayZ there is simply "game". Survive!!

I think the point of DayZ (back from the start of the idea) is you are not supposed to overcome the difficulty and danger.. sooner or later it overcomes you

if you get to a point where the game is easy, or habitual, or it doesn't scare you or stress you to be logged in

either it's time to find another game,

or you are sitting in a small corner of a big game, and it's time to go out and find the rest of it

I hope the second option is the way it's going to be

If you don't have a very creative imagination, the endgame in the SA at the moment will absolutely bore you to tears. It's just the truth.

There really isn't a whole lot to do content wise at this time. But there's always other people out there who can appreciate a good laugh if you know how to roleplay and do some other fun things

This thread is redundant and pointless and deserves to be locked.

If that's your only comment, don't bother posting. Let's have some quiet time in the back seat.

DayZ gun mechanics aren't finished and Arma3 is not a game 'purely for PvP'.

Other than that, and this has probably been said a few times already, the game is what you make of it.

For someone who plays in a group, I could imagine 'end game content', for lack of a better word, to be something like controlling an area of the map. Also hoarding, everyone loves oarding stuff.

Personally, as a solo player, I like to steal shit. I like searching for, and finally finding, big fat bases and sneakly hidden caches. My 'end game content' would be to find large camp and plan, then pull off, a 'heist'.

Then hoard all the stuff.
