Distance of the chat

Recommended Posts

Hey there,

within which range will players notice me typing?

I just got a "put your stuff down or I kill you RIGHT NOW" message. I wonder if it has been meant for someone else but i could not see anyone around. Plus no one shot when I headed my way.

Is it reaching people over a distance like the voice chat or is it a wider range?

This^

Anytime there's in-game text, look to see if the players name is in parentheses at the beginning of said text.

No do not ignore everything that doesn't come with a name because if you have Admins that are actually posting pertinent messages over global, then you could actually miss something. Not every Admin is a troll.

Can't be 100 we tried last night and it looks like 50 or less which is silly cause you can still hear voice chat over that, i think this needs to be tweaked in the future

He's speaking in regard to players in proximity.

Fair enough, but by saying ignore everything else because "Trolling Admin" kind of sends the wrong message.  ;)

I've also messed with it the other day and it's definitely within 50 meters.

Tanks for the answers! His name was written in chat like "(KOG Troll): bla bla bla" I just ran, 'cause I don't trust one to play fair who names himself "troll" ;)

I've gotten that message before, as well as all my friends who played on the same server as me. It's just a server message, not an actual player.

I wish I could talk to people in the server :( Would make games more interesting if there was a global type chat.

I get lonely running around by myself with nobody else to see :(

Alot of servers also host a teamspeak associated with it allowing for something like what you want..
