On top of that i still remember those fog screen shots. Add the new zombie pathfinding with multiple hordes and that kind of weather element and it would be terrifying.

Not true you forgot about ladders. If they cannot climb ladders than it will still be a matter of avoiding danger all together. However if they get it down like the mod than no place will be safe. Maybe the woods and thats it lol.

But you forgot that ladders are more dangerous than the zombies themselves...

But if ladders are your only choice when you got a horde of 6 or 7 which are you going to choose?

Only 6-7 zombies?  I may take those odds over having to climb up and back down a ladder...  Honestly, I have had the worst experiences with ladders and avoid using them whenever possible.

Not the ladder thats for sure :)

NEVER trust ladders, they are backstabbing COD noob's, who wants nothing but to kill you.

But this is awsome news, im quite impressed how the team have picked up the pace in the last couple of weeks.

I can take out that many zombies with my fire ax without taking a hit...

A ladder is like rushing into Berezino with a road flare on a 40 man server with all the best gear in the game...nothing but death awaits.

Ill take my chances with the zombies

Its the first step prior to barricading.. So yes and no, Zeds can still open doors if you have not barricaded it up. They are like Velociraptors in that sense.

I cant wait to be able to say

I dont get this whole fort/barricading thing...

Server gets shut down= gone

Late night when server is empty people will break in and steal your stuff...

Only way it would be safe enough for me to keep would be if it disappeared when I logged off and only appeared on server I logged into so I know I can protect the stuff inside...

I agree with about the numbers, but you have to remember that now they will follow you upstairs every time, all the way to the top. So no more zombiesafe zones by going to the second floor.

No, but they will still serve as a funnel and a way to slow them down. Now, when there's 50 chasing you it wouldn't be a such a good idea to paint yourself into a corner. Especially if you only have 49 rounds.

Ladders seems to be a hazard on their own.

My axe got stuck in the head of the zombie that I killed that alerted the other 50. Wasn't able to get it out in time so I had to abandon. I bolted upstairs into the nearest house and pulled out my rifle with exactly 49 rounds left. I managed to stay calm enough to make every shot count, but it wasn't enough. One last zombie remains and it's creeping up the stairs towards me right now. OMG, what do I d....nm, it just clipped through the stairs.

I really hope they don't make zombies climb ladders, that's not even logical. Maybe if you climb up the ladder in the ACT the zombies would run through the door and up the steps instead of trying to climb the ladder. Lets be honest here guys, what movie or book have you seen the classic zombie climb up a ladder. Opening doors is still a bit far fetched for me unless you were to leave the door unlocked and then BY CHANCE pushed the door nob down to turn it. Like this door knob for example they'd actually have a chance at opening.

But I don't think that a zombie would have enough common sense to open this kind of door knob.

This is just my opinion... if the dev team is still going for realisticness then why can zombies open doors...? Again, this is only my opinion please don't get butt hurt.

It's a hit or miss right now with stairs. Sometimes they make it up, sometimes they don't. I think it's a matter of how far from the staircase you can get before they get to the stairs. Like if you run up stairs and down a hall and into a room before they hi the stairs, they will try and re-path to your locale as though on the same level as you.

Well, a lot of servers have been around for a while. Server that I have my public hive mod character on has been around for at least a year.

That, and leaving your barricade/structure/fortress alone whilst you're offline is a risk you take. Nobody needs to have 100% impenetrable fortresses any more than they need paper-thin walls that can be punched through with a light breeze. Hence why there's a middle ground to be found in terms of locking doors, and having certain items be able to defeat those locks via rarity.

Plus, it's sort of on you to hide your stuff well. I've had untouched camps on full servers for weeks, and that's in the mod where tents stick out like sore thumbs.

Have you seen any RUST game play? I haven't played it but have seen it. You build forts or barricades and also you have safes inside it that need a password or code to enter. So you make a friend or join a clan and give out the code to people you trust. Then you log off and at least someone is there to guard the base.

I am not sure but I think the only way to get into a base on RUST is to bomb it but you have to craft bombs or you can build stairs or a base around the enemy base but it takes time and resources so could be hours before you can get in or up?

Again maybe someone who plays can correct me if I'm wrong?
