So farewell then N.E.A.F - i'd imagine that tonight was my last ever shenanigans there  before it's reconfigured in the new patch, I don't think it's going to be quite the same fun it once was.  I lived up there hunting hoppers for most of last December, knew all my ranges to the ACT from North, South, East & West. & always had a great frame rate no matter where you were.  Many a hoppers adventure ended when they though they were all alone and safe on a low pop server.  Good times!!    (my greatest fear is we're going to run out of good combat aeras for FPS with all the urbanisation that is underway in Chernarus, which will make me a sad panda.

I did the same thing last night.. had one last hoorah at the NEAF on HC stable server.. It was a blast, much action.. I killed I think about 6 people before I eventually bled out from not being able to escape my final position (pinned down and out of rags, bled out). It was amazing.. I dropped all of my gear on the ground so whoever got me would not lose a thing. It was a well fought battle, and I was seriously outnumbered and in the end my really good spot got overrun. Loved it. But as you said, that was probably my last good run there until wednesday when things change forever.. :)

ohhh common there are alot of more spots who get worked over. its a great change and the area feels more unique.

yeah I know, it's just not going to be the honey pot it once was.  the last person I saw at it, was a complete nub I hadn't the heart to shoot & watched them combat log on a zombie that was beating the shit outta them, I just walked away from it laughing thinking adios amigo!

I for one wont miss it - every "bandit" hunter in the game hangs out there - very little difference between "bandit" hunters and bandits ( or if you prefer hopper hunter 8P )

Thank you for reworking that place. Since dayz has gone to steam early access - i wasn't able to visit any of airfield, cause it took for me each time about 1-2 hours time and then i was killed at the first building by some campers, that insulted me (being unconscious) using mic, calling me bit.... and server hopper for no reason.

Those players like Calibre ruin this game and make me wish to delete it all the time, making it from Zombie survival to some stupid KoS shooter.

i'll miss the times that i needed gear ,so i always ran to the neaf to find some snipers to knock out and full gear my character in 30 second :C

Yeah, God knows they might to have to fight on even terms.  Or they'll just go to coast and kill bambi's like the manly men they think they are.

wow man . you wait all that long to quote crap and advertise a game that you posible bought and isnt satisfacing you?  im not defending dayz , i dunno if you were the sniper i knockout but WOW . if you want to play h1z1 go men , no need to come on dayz forum talking about things that arent the game it self . I've been watching some experimental streams today and it still seems like a hotspot. Plenty of firefights over one single ATC tower.

Those type of players were nothing like me son, chances were the people I killed didn't even hear the shot that killed them!  i've other reasons for my nostalgia for N.E.A.F - it was where I encountered my first vehicle in DayZ - a pant shitting experience, also were I got my first set of NVG's off a wookie I killed, it's were I got my first camo UAZ.  When the spawns moved north east in standalone I walked away from it as it's better days was behind it by then imo.

he meants its you reminding him of how downright ridiculous Day Z can be when an un-armed Noob can charge up to a sniper hot spot, use their magic finger death punch and steal a fully armed man's gear. Its not balanced, and due to Desync on the snipers end they probably couldnt hit the guy, and the punch is OP.

 

i think the point was hope H1z1 isn't as ridiculously glitchy as to an unarmed noob can just magic-punch a load of snipers and take whatever he wants.

 

and I agree with the guy, i hope it is a good game, just because you like Day Z doesn't mean you can't like other suvival games- just look at some of the great games Day Z has inspired planet zomboid, the Forest, and State of decay. Pro Zomboid is an excellent game, and H1z1 is looking like it could be pretty good.

Considering the amount of new townage around the area I can see the airfield being just as popular.

 

Glad to see it disappear as a military base though. DayZ might have spawned from a military sim but the less military gear there is the better, imo.

not sure why you think this is a zombie survival game, but...whatever. The only thing remotely challenging currently is PvP. Might change one day, but not today

Yesterday I saw a video with the new airfield.

To be honest, the area lookes better the way it is until today. The hangars and the other buildings fit more into an airfield. I don't like these normals storage buildings. They're ok at the port in Berezino.

Maybe there were some more bugs and problems with the jail there so they had to change this areas completely. Who knows?!
