I have been on four different servers looking for these and was unable to find any crash sites. There should be atleast one that would have spawned out of the four servers. I am playing the STABLE version Thanks Switch to experimental or wait it out a bit, as the rendering distance just got fixed in the latest exp. patch so that you can see the smoke from well over 500m which as it is in stable you can barely see when your around 200m which makes missing them very easy to do.
