Where did YOU find an AKM

Just wondering where everyone found the highly rare AKM. They said it was supposed to be in the loot-able spots that the m4 was located at. Bullshit I say. Ive been looking everywhere the M4 use to spawn and found nada. But I did get one of some poor sap south of the NWAF in that military base in the field. So, where did you people of Dayz , get your AKM?

With all the server hopping madness you probably just keep missing them. Folks are not even leaving the possible spawn areas. Barracks, tents, jails, police stations.

I don't even want one, as I don't use long guns.

The Longhorn on the other hand...go perfectly with my Amphibia!

Same here, can't find one anywhere. I had one on experimental but have yet to see one on stable. I've got 4 mags and the scope.

They spawn all throughout the military bases and airfields. I've found them in the same places I've found M4A1s multiple times.

me and my buddy were at the NEAF and we had trapped 6 other people in the ACT (i know right) he had the ladder i had the stairs we managed to kill all but one. (he had combat logged like a bitch) i managed to grab one AKM off one of the bodies right before the restart and all the gear was gone. I believe atleast 3-4 of the players had AKM's aswell.

AKM Barracks

 

Longhorn do that 3 story building where it has a 100% chance of spawning a gun on the top floor (I have found 4 Longhorns there) I usually log out over by one of those buildings in a remote town up north and check it before i head out.

found the longhorn and its a nifty nasty Little Piece of Hardware. Altho not useable as only pistol ofc, but still.

I've found one so far, in the barracks of NWAF. Found a gazillion drum mags (not really, maybe five in total - no regular ones tho, sadly enough), some scopes and some folding stocks.

I think just comes down to luck though, getting there before some server hopper does. I reckong it helps to know the restart times of the server you're playing on.

I found a fully decked out m4 in one of the tents, suggesting that the m4 user dropped his m4 in favor for an AKM. (he mightve regreted it later on, as exacly this M4, now in my possesion, caused this: http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/487827638682030172/81C91612CC639D86BAF159534373E538A48AC16A/  to his team....5 more corpses outside....)

 

Other than that, only took it from other players. But from the post here it primarily seems to spawn in barracks, which could explain the heavy NWAF activity in recent days.

I found an AKM in the helicopter crash by Riffy. Decided I wanted an M4 so traded with one of my clan buddies!  I hear the drum mags are ridiculously hard to find ...

I killed someone for mine.

 

In fact, they deserved it. I was held up on top of an apartment building in berizno and someone was at the bottom of the ladder shooting up at us. After a 15-20 minute standoff (during which they wasted lots of ammunition), they appeared to log out, and then a few moments later appeared on the rooftop with us (still in the logging in animation) so we shot them immediately.

 

Turned out they had a AKM with pristine attachments, 5 fully loaded ammo drums and two ammo crates of loose SKS/AKM ammo. 

 

Am surprised someone with that much gear would ghost to try and kill someone and risk losing it all. There was only one way onto the roof and we were covering the ladder, so they must have logged out, joined another server, got to what they deemed would be a vantage point behind us, and logged back in. Fortunately there were two of us, one covering the ladder, the other watching the surrounding area.

The only one I've found in the current stable I picked up at barracks at Balota. I found lots of AKMs in the previous exp. Never found a Longhorn in any build.

I found my AKM at Balota. The parts came from tentville and NEAF.

 

One of our buddies picked up a Longhorn in Balota. It seems too gimmicky for combat, but it's absolutely fun to plink trees with.

 

P.S The longhorn mounts a suppressor and a flashlight even though neither work.
