Just found my second AKM after getting killed yesterday. Anyone that cant seem to find one interested in swapping? I'd prefer an M4 with ACOG, but I will also accept a LRS'd mosin.

I'm going to go out on a limb and assume devs are WELL aware of this issue.

dont seem to aggro (or see) through walls, so line of sight is there (ITS A GOOD THING)

Have you ever watched a zombie film or series before? Generally when a zombie gets ya', you turn into a zombie.

come out of no where and respawn (counter this by killing then hiding bodies)

This was supposed to be fixed last patch.

 

current player issues:

 

raising fists while moving forward / raising weapon leaps you forward to your doom on a roof (even accidental)

Not encountered this

stuck on cancel current action majority of the time.

Elaborate? Do you mean the gliding/putting weapon away action?

cannot cook on pots / pans successfully#

Worked for me fine, we had a little BBQ on NWAF the other night!

 

other issues:

making a campfire in a building without windows & doors closed still has wind blow out matches.

You mean inside a barn or garage? Still get wind under the doors. 

there ARE NO ALTERNATIVES TO MAKING A FIRE ASIDE FROM MATCHES! GIVE US A ZIPPO WITH UNLIMITED USES(RARE RARE DROP) OR STICK FIRES! (rubbing sticks)

Let's make that 100% fuel on a Pristine lighter that uses maybe 3-5% every use. 

 

the throwing physics seem to lag ALOT and even then the files such as small campfire brightness or flare or even lanturn dont render (known by the user error / crashes constantly popping up with continue button at bottom)

Throwing physics I assume will be redesigned to make way for the new grenades.

 

Weapon flashlight + silcers still dont work, flashlight wont work on longhorn,

Weapon flashlight works fine for me when I place a battery inside it.

bolts / arrows unable to recover after hitting something living, but recoverable from walls etc.

Tried looting the person you hit?

 

Longhorn supposed to be one hit kill etc....misses too often

So you want a weapon that's one hit kill on every press of the trigger, regardless of the users aim, wind, distance etc?

scope sway is TOO bad

Anyone else getting crashes upon exiting the game? About 90% of the time I press exit, I get a crash instead of a clean exit.

1) So, I have 20 hours played since 0.45 on stable, patroling between Zeleno and Balota.

 

2) Never seen an animal, never found an AKM.

 

3) Devs made AKM very rare... for what? You can find very easly canned beans and no need for hunting and you devs care about AKM and M4???

 

4) Making them so rare is improving this game? You should prevent server hopping then adjust the probability of AKM. Anyway, in a place like this: Balota air field and tents, not finding an AKM after playing 20 hours on 3-4 servers is unacceptable. No need to move from the east, I will just stay there and do nothing. Everyone thought this patch would bring so many new things, but it is so boring...

 

5)Maybe it's server config problem, check thesee : NL, PL hosted by GameSerevrs.... I have wasted my time....

1) I feel your pain tell me are you playing in normal or hardcore mode? I ask this because I know that folks that play in normal mode are finding AKMs without much trouble. In Hardcore mode I was stuck with my M4 and a slowly dwindling ammo supply for many, many hours of game play before I located an AKM in a barracks and that is the only one I have seen.And I haven't seen a Longhorn yet. I do have two 20 round boxes of 7.62 x 51 (should be 7.62 x 54r) waiting in the wings.  

 

2) I have been living off of a combination of cooked meat and canned goods since .45 came out. Although bumping off cows doesn't seem to yield any meat..I guess they are glitched.

 

3-4) No making AKMs so rare in hardcore mode is NOT improving the game.in fact it smacks of incompetence, oversight or a BAD idea . In hardcore mode you'll be finding Damn little 5.56 at wrecked helicopters, plenty of SKSs everywhere, plenty of 7.62 x 39 ammo in boxes, a few  10 round 7.62 x 39 SKS strip clips, plenty of AKM magazines, drums, hand guards, and folding stocks and PSO scopes but almost no AKM rifles. .

 

All in all except for the hunting and cooking the .45 upgrade is far less than satisfactory IMHO. There were about 15 million SKSs and variants made but there were about 100 million AK-47/AKM pattern rifles made....which weapon should be more common in the game? I have an AKM but I would ditch it in a minute for an SVD and I would love to have a silenced 9mm pistol as the Amphibian is too much of a pipsqueak

 

BlaeZ Crashes on exit?  Yes I have had the same exact experience since .45 came out

Yeah I've been getting that even when I use task manager it comes up with the not responding box and I have to end the process again. Or if I just exit normally it does it so I need task manager.

no it doesnt work on .45 stable as far as cooking and as far as looting for bolts to recover

 

raise or draw a weapon by accident while moving towards a ladder and you will see

I agree with lighters but...unlimited use? It should be a 100% gas kind of thing and they could add in lighter fluid.

 

 

Who needs lighter fluid, if its a zippo, use the petrol station pumps. No need for new lighter fluid graphics and we can blow up the petrol station while you do it ;-)

That would make it way too easy plus how would it be regulated do they have infinite fuel?

 

There needs to be some element of challenge to them.

Too bad character data gets overwritten so easily. I'll be interested in any upcoming information concerning potential fixes to the problem. I'd like to think it's a fairly severe one, so I'd expect it to be a priority right alongside 0.45's tendency to cause client crashes.
 

Alpha is alpha, but I won't pretend it's not a little frustrating to lose a character simply because some random little pecker fucker's shitty excuse for a server happens to have a problem I had no way of knowing about until joining. At least there's a warning message a few seconds prior to actually spawning in, I suppose...

 

Anyway, I seem to have these problems with fragnet's servers, so... Just to throw it out there, be wary of fragnet servers you aren't familiar with.

Another victim falls prey to the deadliest killer in all of DayZ. Spontaneous trouser combustion. Or STC as the kids call it. Damn kids, get off of my lawn!

I can't even count how many times my pants have just exploded all of a sudden. It's a serious issue. Any word on when this might be fixed?

I've never had issues with my pants being spontaneously ruined, myself.

I was playing regular, though I prefer hardcore, but I keep that character to play with my friends.

Indeed, I found 3xSKS, 3xMosin, AKM mag, ammunition, all kind of optics, but not a single AKM.

 

We all waited so long for 0.45 release to stable. We saw AKM pictures and announcements from Dean. In the end, 0.45 is released with AKM but not with AKM (becasue AKM should be so rare - Hicks). WTF? Was this the right time for balance? Your dev team worked on something that we all waited so much, but not all we will see it, at least not soon, but after hours and hours of searching. I am again so dissapointed about this decissions, I don't know it was Hicks or Dean. Too bad you don't know how to see through users eyes. You Hicks and Dean ofcourse you tested AKM, you develop the game, but we all the comunity must do a stupid boring search of 5xBalota or any airfield to see an AKM. And don't tell me that it was on experimental. Don't compare stable users with experimental, there are far more stable users.

 

I have heard some of you found 2xAKMs, don't know on what servers if there is a server option for loot, but I have played so many hours on official servers only.

 

So, you balanced the game, good. That's very good. But how come that no one needs hunting? There is food everywhere.

 

By the way, I forgot to mention. SKS is unplayable. The gun is pointing very strange in all direction. And it is not the weapon sway, it is something else so strange.

I have lost a magnum after a login because my items were re-aranged in my backpack in a way that a magnum would not fit anymore. So, no more magnum.

What all got changed in size?

I heard binoculars take up 4 slots now...correct me if I'm wrong but they don't even work yet anyway so that just seems stupid to change now, if they were usable and good maybe it wouldn't be too annoying.

 

Why 4 spaces anyway that seems retarded honestly unless they're infinitely better than a scope just get a scope PU's, SKS's and Mosin's are everywhere then you have a monocular that takes up no space.

They should have stayed 2 slots or maybe you could break it in half to have a monocular.

I am one of those people who found 2 AKM's. I found them within a couple hours the day after the patch. Then, the day before yesterday I was killed, and I found another AKM within 2 hours. They're definitely there, you're obviously not having much luck though. I play on non-official servers I am familiar with, maybe thats why im getting lucky finding them.

 

Couldnt disagree more about the SKS thing. I had the SKS as my secondary rifle most of yesterday and it seemed fine to me. I dont know what you mean by "the pointing is very strange" but maybe some elaboration would help us understand.

Don't cry over spilled milk lost magnums. Seriously though, handguns are so abundant, you can find one very quickly.

Binoculars do indeed take up 4 slots. They work absolutely fine, they've worked since they were added. Originally you could only use them while standing up, but since this patch you can use them in any position. I'm not sure where you're getting your facts from buddy, but they're wrong which begs the question, do you play this game or just slant the game on the forums? The only scope which is more powerful than Bino's is an LRS which can only be mounted onto a Mosin. Here's a tip, some people don't like Mosins. Any other optic takes up 2 slots, besides a BUIS which doesn't modify zoom.

I've read multiple peoples posts saying they still don't work after this patch must be bugs then.

Yes.. 3 per server restart in random preset locations around the map. Mainly in the western portion. Look up the locations..

Nice, thanks. I found two out of three on the server I was on yesterday then. That's pretty impressive imo. Neither had M4's though, just some ammo, helmets, attachments.

I understand that three crashed choppers get planted on the terrain per reset. I also have heard that there are 13-20 possible locations for crashed chopper spawns. I think the virtual removal of the M4A1 from the game is just about as dumb as dirt in light of the fact that the AKM the most common assault rifle in history at 100,000,000 and counting is now as rare as common sense in at least one particular quarter.

 

AKMs shouldn't be rare to the point of stupidity in a post apocalyptic world (especially not in Eastern Europe) but they should degrade with the degree of use and abuse  inflicted on them and require periodic maintenance via cleaning kits, rags, scavenged motor and penetrating oil and detergent to keep them in good shape. Still to this day Former Warsaw pact countries use ammunition that have corrosive (mercuric) primers. The residue left in the weapon by these corrosive primers will cause  a weapon to be eaten alive by rust if it is not cleaned properly and as soon as possible after firing.

Tried the patch tonight and I must say the improvements to the netcode really stood out.

Before the game would regularly glitch when eating or changing weapon.

Post patch seems ok.

Shaking from side to side is actually very realistic it is called your 'wobble area' and it is related to your heart rate and grip on the weapon (In RL). Your wobble area can manifest itself in three ways, 1) side to side movement, 2) a figure eight pattern of movement, or 3) a bounce or pulse (<---in RL).

 

In the game It seems that running exacerbates the problem but the side to side wobble is alleviated by squatting down, resting before going into harms way or by snap shooting when the front sight or cross hairs pass through the target.

 

In the USMC an Army infantry soldiers and Marines do (did?) something called ITT shooting (Infantry Team Trophy). The 4 man team and the team coach run/jog two miles in full gear and body armor in a maximum of 22 min. Once the team hits the first course of fire at the 500 yard line they have one minute prep time and then six targets are presented at that yard line. There you will learn the effects of an expanded wobble area due to exertion. You will have 50 seconds to get off as many rounds as you can at the 500 (5 points/hit), 300 (3 points/hit) and 200 (2 points/hit) yard lines. Yes physical exertion has a negative effect on YOUR accuracy with a given shoulder fired weapon. 

 

If this side to side wobble is intended to inject realism into the game then I applaud it.

 

But hey, now that the M4A1 and 5.56mm ammo is almost non existent how about making finding an AKM a bit easier to find and collect. Lately every clown that I put down has AKM attachments, 30rnd magazines, and 75rnd drums but no AKM. The one I found right after .45 went into effect is the only one I have seen in any of the Military loot spawns (Hardcore Mode)....pathetic.
