Where do I find the AKM?

I have all the attachments but no AK. People are going to think I'm weird when they kill me.

I spent 6 hours this weekend looking for an AKM, the first 2 hours i couldn't even get my hands on a mag. 

 

Now in my inventory i have:

 

4 x 30rnd AK mag

2 x 75rnd AK drum mag

1 x pristine wooden buttstock

2 x pristine foldable buttstock

2 x pristine PSO scope.

too much ammo

 

no AK still.

 

On exp i found mags and the AK in one hour, but thats just luck.

 

 

 

EDIT: I FOUND ONE! And besides, in that time i saw atleast 12 SKS, 4 Mosins, and even 2 M4s while passing heli crashes.

i found mine on another player that obviously found his akm the moment i came arround the corner.

 

poor chap  :|  but after looking for two days with no result i just couldnt let him walk away with this bringer of DOOM

They seem to spawn in barracks and jail buildings for me, never found one elsewhere on both reg and hc. The mags are pretty common for me. I kinda like the increased rarity in loot, but i cand find LRS anywhere

I've been finding the LRS everywhere. Hell, I left an LRS and a bipod in a bag with some goodies and a note at NEAF because I had too many!

I didnt have a problem finding the AKM(military base outside Vybor)....but I cant find a damn axe. I want to start fires!

Found mine at the base south of NWAF, then one mag at the NWAF tents. I've seen a few AKMs since then, but damn those 75s are a bitch to find.

Found all the attachments in Balota tent city and a 30 mag in the jail building. 

Went to the Military Base near Pavlovo and found nothing.

Finally found the AKM on a bed in Zelenogorsk in the barracks and a 30 mag in the jail building there.

 

It did take me 3 days from spawning at Karmanovka and traversing all the way down the map, checking every police station on the way until I finally found it in Zelenogorsk Military Barracks.

It did hurt to say good bye to my trusty old SKS, but I'm such an unfaithful ____ and this AKM is so sexy.

My journey started at Karmanovka and went through Svetlojarsk, Berezino (avoiding the PvP at NEAF), Dolina, Staroye, Chernogorsk, Balota, Pavlovo and finally Zelenogorsk.

Anyone saying they can find one in 30 minutes must be having lots of luck and is totally discarding their surroundings and taking huge risks.

    To be honest, I think the AKM is too hard to find for how bad it is. It's not really a good gun unless it's point blank range. I'd take ANY other gun for it, a rifle at least. Except that the AK looks cool.

It looks badass for sure, specially with all the attachments, but I can't hit anything if not point blank to save my life with it.

When you swing it from left to right it moves slower than a Mosin and when aiming down the sights it jumps and skips around like crazy.

I am sure there is something wrong with this gun. 

Seriously I think the SKS is a better choice than the AKM in its current state.

Seriously I think the SKS is a better choice than the AKM in its current state.

        Honestly, I stay out of PvP mainly, as I prefer more of the survival aspect of the game. So it's not much of a problem for me. I just tap the trigger, pulling off semi-auto shots at range to take down targets. I actually love the whole jumping and skipping, as it makes it feel like a gun in real life. Also, I have an AKM airsoft gun, that looks exactly the same as the in-game AKM, except it doesn't have a wood handle. :p

It's funny you should say that, because since the update, I feel like all the scoped guns jump and skip around like crazy. 

 

Just fired off a few shots with the SKS (worn scope) and a pristine longhorn. Target range about 300. Roughly 20 shots, not a single hit. And I really dropped off each single shot when I was at least 99% sure.

 

They've done something to the scope precision and to the zeroing.

Just dumped mine for a mosin. There are plenty of them in the barracks never found one somewhere else but found a lot of them in barracks.

I actually just found mine in the barracks at the balota air strip.

I dropped my mosin, LRS, an ammo box full of ammo for the AKM, drum mag, two ammo boxes full of ammo, and 5 thirty round mags. All the ammo and mags I found while looking for the damn thing, and the thirty round mag I found underneath the bed in the barracks at zelenegorsk

I did some tests because I heard if you treat a broken limb the back and forth sway when zoomed with a scope goes away.

So I crafted a splint from rags and sticks and it fixed it.

I didn't have any broken limbs or the painful message prior to doing this today and the sway was considerable less.

Try it out yourself and let me know if that helped.

Only found them at army barracks, and more specifically the one's around Balota / Zelenogorsk - and even then that's been extremely rare. Don't seem to find the magazines either for that matter.

Thanks for this valuable bit of advice, it fixed the problem. I also had no pain or broken limb message but after using a splint, the erratic scope jumping went away and I could finally do some decent scouting.

I found an AKM with a 75 Round Drum in a barrack (literally in the same room) in the military base just south of the NWAF. I also found a 25(Or 30 round, I forgot which it is) magazine in the Air Traffic Tower (The one with the glass dome on top).

I cut down a tree yesterday and didn't find a single part for the AKM...

 

 

OMG THIS GAME IS GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

But seriously, it's hard to find and I love it that way :)
