Dead Bodies Should Not Disappear

You know any dead bodies zombies, humans, animals disappearing after die.

 

I want to suggest something diffrent about this.

 

1-When anything get killed included animals they not going to disappearing. We can able to  burn bodies or bury them.

 

2-If nobody doesnt nothing to bodies humans will be zombie(bot ), zombies and animals will get rotten and just skeleton will stay on ground. We should able to collect those skeletons and use for something...Also if nobody collect bones, skeleton willl get dust and leave special stain on ground. While body getting rotten worms will appear on body and  they will eat all meat in half,or one hour.

 

When we get killed by zombie if nobody doesnt burn or bury body, our bodies will turn to zombie . One person already zombie and get killed then nobody doesnt do nothing body will just get rotten.

There has been many threads about the whole dead bodies turn to zombies idea and the response is always the same, the "zombies" are people who are alive and infected, death is death. The survivors are immune to this disease so even if it did resurrect dead humans it wouldn't work on the survivors.

 

Edit: Forgot to say, I do like the skeletal idea though :).

Totally agree. This "hide body" function is just stupid. I just touch the body once, a timer goes off and the body sinks into the ground after, what, 30 seconds? If I really want to hide a body I need to put work in by either burning it, burying it, or carrying it someplace else. Might as well ditch the function until it is properly developed.

Well then lets leave that option... Peoples dont wanna see body disappearing suddenly when select hide body option. We should able to carry, burn or bury and as I said if nobody does not nothing skeletons will left on ground. If still nobody does not nothing just skeleton will get dust and left special stain on ground.

Scratch the skeleton or rotting nonsense. This type of process takes weeks. Most servers reset after a few hours.

 

EDIT: I was going to say takes weeks until you start seeing some real change. Months up to years to complete.

carry / dragging will be added later, and skeletons? really? that makes no sense at all.

also a good idea by someone was to leave the body on the ground in stead of it disappearing, birds come and eat the body and slowly ruins the gear.

because of "performance", not by choice, so forget about it.

 

I'm surprised an inanimate object with hardly any interaction options causes such a massive performance issue.

 

And I'm not against them disappearing after a certain amount of time or after second respawn at the latest (this would also avoid people suiciding to spawn closer to their lost gear) but I think that the hide body function is just rubbish.

 

And I'd like to add: I don't like the birds option at all.

Well, that's what devs claimed when they announced that (I think it was on a very early patch < 0.3xx ).

But I trust them, because dead corpse even if inanimated are still simuled as "dynamic", with container ability.

Perhaps later (when game will become beta) they might allocate some resources to a kind of "pool" (with max number limited, extra newest corpse erase oldest one, etc).

dragging  and hiding the body of recently killed Player sounds good, but collecting bones from Skeleton and do stuff with it is a little extrem imho.

but dead organism rotting away leaving bones is a feature i wish to see for very long time in open-world-shooters...

(i can remember only JaggedAlliance2 to make this happen)

i'm no expert, but i can't imagine it being so hard to remove 'dynamic', 'container' and such of a dead body and merge it with map ;

i.e. just replace it with a model (no loot) of a rotting corpse/skeleton after certain time passed by alike a fence or stone...  ...  ...?!

that would just give you the info --hey, s.o. died here-- or --hey, s.o. was hunting here-- and that is enough to make the world a bit more alive...

It has been stated by Hicks in one of his recent streams that they would like to eventually have dead bodies at least last until server restart, which in the future could be a long time. Right now it is due to performance issues that dead bodies disappear.

 

As for the Zombification of the dead, as stated it has been beaten to death. Survivors are immune to the rage inducing disease and the people who are infected aren't the walking dead.

I'm sure we'll be seeing static bodies of dead players in the future, but right now the servers just can't handle all the extra polygons and containers.

Definitely a good idea to see and know where someone just died for so many good and bad reasons.

One thing I think they should remove is the collision on dead zombies and players, those can be very annoying in small areas like corridors.

I get the impression that since the update, bodies disappear faster.

Recently glitched off the stairs but was right back where I died within 15-20 minutes, and my body gone.

And even on high-pop servers I have not found a single dead body of a person yet.

Afaik the timer on a dead body currently is or should be 10mins.

they should stay there until they are hidden or the server restarts, all that gear just goes to waste if you don't get it off the bodies in time....anyone else agree they shouldn't have an disappear timer?

 

also, on a slightly different note- not sure if this is the case on stable, but on exp you can't even drag the gear directly off the bodies anymore....you have to put it on your person first. i hope that's a bug and not on purpose!

the way we can "hide" bodies in upstairs rooms or on concrete is wrong, im my view.

maybe they need to/will  add "drag body" and you can only drag onto grass area and bury there? or maybe you should only be abel to drag body out of sight, and bodies can disappear after a longer time. i think that might be a better way?
