Mancomb 131 Posted June 8, 2014 I would imagine that, at the outset of a zombie apocalypse, there would be many people trying to flee a given area at once, which would likely result in a number of traffic accidents, of which the vehicles (and possibly the people) that were involved would likely still be at the scene; I think it would be neat to run across stuff like this every once in a while, like the bus with a pile of corpses next to it. Here's an example of something that would be neat to find (and even neater to see happen in-game):
11tw 106 Posted June 8, 2014 Makes sense, sort of thing we will probably see as a finishing touch in the final stages of development. Love the idea though, seems like a great way to make the world seem more vivid.
enforcer1975 1111 Posted June 8, 2014 Those incidents would only happen at the beginning of the event...judging from the "aging" of the buildings i assume the lemmingtrail event is already over.
NagsterTheGangster 388 Posted June 8, 2014 Those incidents would only happen at the beginning of the event...judging from the "aging" of the buildings i assume the lemmingtrail event is already over.Perhaps these scenes could be viewed as recent banditry? And not a result of the initial event taking place. But there definately needs to be more to do PVE wise. I have lots of friends who enjoy theses sort of games a lot but not so much the player interaction. So when they're fully geared they would rather keep looting (or doing missions, etc) instead of wasting people. Perhaps some kind of simple kill>recieve reward mission (whether it be food, water, bullets). Hopefully cooking and hunting will fill some of that gap between this being a survival based game to a more pvp based game.
Redstar Payne 54 Posted June 8, 2014 more vehicle wreckage would be cool to have, crashed planes on the air fields, traffic halted on main roads but nothing too heavy i mean we still need to be able to drive lol ... I feel there should be more abandoned camps deep in the woods but not the small ones we see now and of course not too big ... basically signs of survival besides our own

I understand how your buddies feel but AI or PVE is not the same like in scripted storylines of certain shooters where you get more or less interaction because the script say so. You can't make AI adapt or interact to a player since in both cases a human is unpredictable to another human or AI but an AI is always predictable to a human and therefor a lot of tension is taken out of the game. I know a lot of players who "pwn" AI 24/7 and think they are good players and the moment they fight against another player who hasn't done anything else they get the ultimate buttkicking. That's one thing that belongs into the game and should not be removed, the only thing that is disturbing you as well as other players are those who think DayZ is just CoD with zombies in a larger scale. Future patches will show if they can weed those players out. Admins also have a saying in this by putting settings that prevent this kind of behaviour. But since every admin just wants to get the most players onto his server they will always cater to the ones who want to play CoD.
DemonGroover 8836 Posted June 9, 2014 Well we have the crashed plane, the beached tanker, why not a huge train derailment or 30 car pile up?
sobieski12 835 Posted June 9, 2014 (edited) Well we have the crashed plane, the beached tanker, why not a huge train derailment or 30 car pile up? Or just bring all the trash that was on the road from the mod, lol. Edited June 9, 2014 by Sobieski12

Those were just vague examples I dropped. Theres way better ones that dont need to involve AI. But on topic: I thought today about a movie theatre massacre you could walk in on... Dark large room, bodies in chairs/ aisles everywhere. Would this count as a 'major accident'?

I personally see where your coming from but stuff like that is pretty ruff to run i mean we already have so much and a lot is to be added, you start adding dead bodies and major wreckage its just more that the engine has to account for which means lower end rigs won't have the chance to actually play this game. I would love to see signs of the apocalypse taking shape i mean it adds so much to immersion and really hits home with the survival aspect but with a map this big i just dont think it would be too wise to add. Ignore my earlier post since i actually had time to think lol. Honestly I love this post and feel it should be read but unless the DEV's can figure out a way to make this low impact on lower end rigs i cant say I'd miss it. Then you kind of lurk into the whole "they should have used ARMA 3 engine instead of 2" waters so it could support things like that. And personally I wouldnt particularily miss it either but if I came across one I would definately think its cool as would a majority of players I think.

Mos1ey 6301 Posted June 10, 2014 I think more general destruction etc. will come once the map is completed. The map design guys are still working on new towns.
