Well, an interesting thing happened when I logged onto the experimental a few moments ago, well about 20 mins ago.  I log into the middle of nowhere and freaked out because there is another player right there..... except it wasn't another player  :huh:  

 

Sorry about the music, had just finished smoking some of Canada's finest before logging on :D

 

Anyone else noticed this?

I see. So you basically accidentally copyed yourself. One thing still creeps me out: How did the copys head still love O.O? Usually they just stand there, looking forward.

It looked like it was doing the log out animation but i don't know if it did.  I watched myself for about 3 more minutes then left and came back.  I was still there so I logged off and haven't logged back on.

That was a problem in Mod back in the day, problem was, if some one killed your clone, next time you logged in, you died

Can actually confirm that isnt the case. My friend shot my clone few times + I have shot it myself. Didnt die.

You won't die on the spot, after killing your clone, if you log of then log back in, you log in dead, Dyslexi from  Shack Tac also did this.

I didnt die even I did log out and next day in ;)

The strange thing is I had just got home from work, downloaded the experimental and just logged in.

That's called duping. And your clone never logs out automatically, you have to either kill it or switch servers. Jeez it's like you kids are new to this game.

Had it happen to me just the other night on exp as well, seen it a few times with friends as well a couple patches back

It's a known bug, and as MaxRain said. It's been known and around for as long as I can remember, and it's wildly abused. If you search the bug forums you'll see it reported every few days but they typically go from public to private because it's one of the worst exploits in the game right now. How do you think some snipers / teams seem to have endless ammo? This is exactly how, and it wildly unbalances the game, taking it from a straight survivor experience to a straight PVP experience (I mean, what else do you do with essentially endless ammo?). Its also how some teams re-gear up, which is entirely pathetic, once this is fixed you won't see as many roving bands of dudes outfitted head to toe in all the best matching gear.

Sometimes though killing it causes you to die next time you login in, and it can "log out" by itself sometimes. And I'm sure OP isn't a kid, he just obviously doesn't know of this because he doesn't dupe his own body for teh lootz and or doesn't look more thoroughly in the forums.

So you're telling me that for over 24 hours since i last logged on, it may have been longer, that my character somehow managed to stay in game on the experimental servers?  The only time I've ever seen myself in game is when I get disconnected and rejoin right away, not upon first time logging in for the night, and that character disappears.

I've had that happen after being kicked or disconnected but not on a fresh login lol.  Also, my character normally logs after the 30 second timer this time I was still doing the log out animation for at over 5 mins.  My video is over 1 min already.  This one really has me baffled.
