Your first kill

Recommended Posts

My first kill was an accidental KOS. I was entering the airfield tower building, the airfield to the North East, and it was getting dark but not full dark yet and at the top of the stairs was a guy crouched down walking towards me. He scared the shit out of me so I started firing like a freakin' mad man.

I'm pretty sure we both got the shit scared out of us, but one of us ended up having the shit coming out of multiple holes. LMFAO

That is probably the only type of situation where I'll KOS someone.

Havent been killed by players yet or killed a player yet

Yesterday I finally got to play with a mate after a two month break. Needless to say I was a bit rusty and a bit laggy, making it hard for me to kill even zombies, but my friend is a good fighter. So we've decided I'll be the diplomat and him the fighter. So hopefully I'll neevr have to kill someone, although knowing DayZ he'll break his legs and I'll have to kill him.

My first kill in my first day of gameplay was my friend, I shot him in his head from 150m with m4 because he didn't respond when I asked if it was him:D

I don't kill friendly people.  But I defend myself when someone wants to give me trouble.

My first kill was a man who attacked me when I was exploring a building.  We got into a fistfight and I knocked him off for good.  When he woke up he attacked me again and I knocked him off again.  Then I finished him with his firefighter axe.

Apart from his axe I got from him some nice gear such as a black biker jacket, sunglasses, and food.

Miserable schmuck!

My first kill was three days ago, I had a bandit corner me in the berenzio police station. He told me I had two choices, come out with no gear on (a trap I knew) or he would breach and clear. Obliged for a fire fight I told him try it fag. As a hero I didn't fire at him until he fired at me, shots rang out, he was at the bottom floor. Shooting up near me, second floor, bullets went right by my head. When they stopped I leaned around the corner and popped him in the back of the head. He fell unconscious cussing me out the whole time. I bandaged him and handcuffed him. My hostage, the bandit, later took another bullet. I had shot him with his own gun, what's your move bandits?

My first kill was when somebody shot me. I came back and saw a guy and punched him in the head and he dropped. Then someone killed me again, I finally came back then saw his dead body looted completely and mine the same.

Only time I had to kill someone was when they attacked me.

Here I am minding my own buisness, and I see zombies attacking a player.  So I tried to help him, smacking the zombie in the head and whatnot.  He must have thought I was trying to kill him, so he started to throw blows at me too.  So I responded by giving him a hit on the noggin.

I once saw a player going at it with a zombie (lol) and I shot a warning in their direction. The bullet hit the zombie (totally epic for an accident) and the guy put his hand up and told me he was friendly. He came at me with his axe and I popped him twice, that will teach that jerk.

Yes, I really wanted to kill someone last time.

Normally I hide away and try to keep unseen. But on that day I just wanted to kill a bandit. Looting is nice for some time, but not enough. So let's rescue the world from evil bandits.

The server (harcore) was full. Nearly 40 other players and I was east of Balota heading east. I went to Chernogorsk. All doors closed. No one here, just some few zeds.

I went to Elektrozavodsk and saw some open doors. I climbed on high buildings to get a good overview. Nothing. Not one single player. No freshspan, no bandit not nothing. Even no zeds. Emptiness was all around.

Why do I carry this damn M40 with me when there is nothing to shoot at?

I ran along the rails to the north. Kamyshovo... Solnichniy... Still nothing.

I checked the list of players. Was I suddenly all alone on this server? No, it is still full of people. But where are they?

Berezino. And I really thought of doing some kind of suicide when I suddenly saw three guys running though that town. Two freshspawns and one with a crossbow. I met them in a house and quickly noticed that they were no bandits. So I left them alone again.

I ran to the NEAF. Doors were open. Checked every building. Nothing. No one. Not a single player.

After that I went into the near forest and logged out.

--- Conclusion ---

If you really want to meet players then don't join a full server and go into normally high active cities.

That's not gonna work. You will run for hours and you will find no one.

But next time, I'm very sure, I will join a 1 player server and somewhere in nowhereland I will run into this single player that will give me a headshot.

------

That was a little report about the frustrating sides of this game. ;)

First kill? That's making me use my noggin damnit and I don't like to think overmuch. DISCLAIMER: TL;DR at the ending.

Oh! I remember now. January-ish, back when the only guns were M4s, Mosins and FNXs I was clearing NWAF on a nighttime server. I don't play Gamma-up, I actually use my flashlight so on a full server this poses some serious risks, but I was in it to win it that night. I had my surround-sound heaphones on, playing on my 43' plasma, lights off and ready to rock. I cleared all the buildings up the east side, nobody, nobody, nobody, odd for a full server right?

I made my way past the tower and fire-station, through the jailhouse and barracks. Apparently I was the first one there. I cleared up and out, swept the tents and was feeling pretty confident. I had gone from no gear to fully geared in about 30 minutes, a strapped-out M4 on my back and a fully loaded M4 ready to rock and roll. I left the tents and used my acog to check down-range on the AF, looking for signs of light or movement. Nothing. So I clear the empty warehouse on the west side and start moving south again. On my way down I take down 3 or 4 zeds just ranging around, one nice clean shot with the firefighter axe and the go down easy. That's when I heard the telltale sound of a player rustling through bushes. I quickly shut off my headlamp and ducked behind the closest tree. The sound was receeding from me, so I checked behind, no one in that open area. I popped around the tree (ashamedly) using the third person to peek, see if I could spot him but it was too dark. Then I realized. The sun was coming up, HAPPY DAY! So I moved around from tree to tree, I couldn't see him but i could hear him still, ever so slightly. That's when I saw his light, clearing the McDonalds (red restaurant building for the nubs). I snuck around the side but he was far enough ahead that he made it out before I arrived and was heading down towards the southern jailhouse. I followed his progress more closely this time, being sure to keep out of bushes. I watched quietly, sweating and trying to decide how to approach the situation while he cleared the Jailhouse. I decided the only time he'd put down his weapon was when gathering water at the well by the barracks. It was a long shot but I was willing to take it.

So I snuck around and waited by the well. He approached, cleared the building and I was afraid he was going to just leave, but then, right on cue, he slings what I could only assume was a Mosin, and began drinking. I immediately yelled at him, "Put you hands behind your head! Do it and do it now!" he turned and looked, canteen in his hand, crouched, not moving, staring down the muzzle of my M4. "I said put your hands behind your head and don't move! You have until 5 to comply or I'll shoot" "1, 2, 3..." he dashed. He ran around the outside wall, barely avoiding a spray from my rifle. I followed, continuously telling him to stop, I only wanted to check his gear and I promised not to kill him, but he refused. He passed a blind corner and I knew I couldn't follow, he now had somewhat of an advantage, I didn't know if he'd gotten his weapon out. Something in my gut told me to check behind me though, around the stone wall. Maybe he came all the way around, in an attempt to flank me. He was even smarter. He had crawled under the small broken area in a wall and was propped up waiting. Still nothing. So I called out, "I'm coming around the corner, if you aren't on your knees with your hands behind your head, I'm shooting!" It worked, he turned around and I popped behind him as he turned, and laid at least 20 rounds in his direction. He died immediately. No response from him at all, no plea, no bragging, no taunting. Not a peep.

I felt bad only because I ruined all of his gear, I don't KoS, but I'm not stupid enough to try and be a hero. Be fair to me and you won't get

killed.

TL;DR I snuck up on him, tried to be fair, he ran, tried to kill me, I was smarter and shot first.

I've just kill 1 man. I was just something like 10 hours into the diversion and I was going to go into a building and out of the corner of my eye i see a fellow running at me with an axe, i moved to the side and he continued swinging so i needed to shoot him with my magnum, dropped him with 2 shots which was great reason i just had 4..

My first kill came when I was playing with some friends. We had already ran into 5 or 6 people all of whom we spoke w/ EVEN TRADED food and ammo with.....till this one guy rolls up. He wouldn't talk, he kept at a distance BUT he kept following us. We passed a Mosin, but everyone had a gun so noone picked it up. We knew this kid was up to no good so we left the gun as a test to see what he was up to and said in VOIP "man well we can't take this gun we'll just leave it for someone who comes by" ...within seconds of us leaving the building this kid had sprinted into the building. I was along the one side and I could hear him load the gun. Lovely, the one gun we left this dude had ammo for lol.I told my group and one of our guys decided to be the rabbit and stay out in the open and see if the guy decided to shoot while I posted up in a building that let me see the front of this building where he'd most likely come out of. Assumption was right. The second this player popped the doorway he was raising his rifle and aiming at my companion BLAM fired a shot. Immediately after I put 3 M4 rounds in him and he was dead, on the ground, crying because "it wasn't fair that was the only gun he ever found".....I just remember my one friend's response "first gun you found and already you were gonna be a Dbag" we all laughed over his corpse and continued on our merry way.

You got lucky, when I went to the NEAF on a 1/20 server. I went in the first building and got popped.

First things, I'm very new to the standalone and never played the mod at all so all I had to go on was what I have seen, read and been told. And what I had gathered from these is three simple rules, Never get surprised by others, Never trust someone who doesn't talk and its always better to be alive than a newbie...

With those said I am rather ashamed of my first kill, my and three friends, all brand new to the game essentially, were wandering around NWAF on a low pop server, just checking things out when appeared the unluckiest of people charging up the runway shooting all the zed's that appeared. He obviously had terrible observation and survival instincts and hadn't seen us, so we silently and coldly stalked him, every time he went into a hangar we moved closer until the final hangar we were in close enough and each of us opened up. The poor bloke never stood a chance.

The way I think about it now is that if we hadn't done it, with the way he was playing someone would have done it eventually. Its better that all his pristine gear went to some players that were honestly just a little scared but ultimately well intentioned.

around the time i had first bought the game i hadnt died yet, i was in a town getting food when i saw someone standing at the window behind me. i moved around until i could see the door and told him not to come in or i would shoot, he decided to test my threat by opening the door and walking in, i heard him say "can i have some beans" through a muffled cloud of gunfire.

I prefer to be friendly but learned the hard way that it gets you killed more often then you want.

So far I've had one good experience were 2 guys escorted me and another fresh spawn to airfield and village and I would like to return that favour or at least just be able to talk with someone.

But any attempt to repay the kindness received to other players ended with death. With the climax being one guy running to me shouting 'I'm friendly, don't shoot me' and then to hit me in the head.

2 weeks ago I had my first kill, but yesterday was the day I survived my first shoot out.

My first kill happened at tent camp at international airport. I was looting the place when I suddenly heard the sound of drinking and later on a zombie being killed. So I was on alert and had my M4 ready. Just when I was about to run outside the tent, this guy runs into the tent I'm in. So out of reflex I just hit the mouse and shoot while he does the same. Before my screen blacks out I hear a moan and see him go down. So I expect we killed each other.

The shoot-out I survived happened yesterday. I was near a military base when server had a reset. So after logging back in I head straight to the base. While looting first barrack I open a closed door to find some guy standing in the room. I hesitated a couple of seconds but shot him anyway. The noise alerts some zombies and I had to find myself. I after shoot first zombie entering the barrack and preparing for the 2nd one, I hear other gunshots. I quickly run into a room for cover expecting 2nd zombie to follow me.

But the zombie didn't come so I deducted he was shot by some other guy. Either he was a friend of the one I shot or someone with same idea as me. And the zombie probably took the bullet that was meant for me.

So with the exit under aim, I had nowhere to go so I knew it was kill or be killed time. I stepped out into the hallway and hoped I would spot the guy very fast. I spotted him kneeled down 20-30m before the barrack door and shot a couple of bullets while he started shooting at me. I still can't believe it but he died and I survived. I guess I had the better aim then him since we were both firing M4.

Was both in heaven and hell because I had my first real shoot out, but also felt sad for the 2 guys. But they would have probably shot me as well since it wasn't a friendly server.

Mine was only a few months ago but I remember it like it was yesterday.

I was looking for some player interaction after being bored with my then-current character. So I posted up off the coastal road in hopes of finding a fresh spawn in need. I found a player but then another guy was desyncing out of nowhere and popped into my FOV down the hill. He spotted me and then I'm guessing was going to flank me. I don't know. All I know is he had his gun in the "ready" position when he approached me and unless you're a friend of mine, there is only one action I'm going to take. I felt horrible after it happened. Hell I didn't even have the guts to loot his corpse. Things might of turned out different for him had he made an attempt to talk in chat.

Here's the video of it :D

~10 minutes after first respawn

Top of firestation in Elektro, found Ak-74 there and on my way down the stairs encountered 2 dudes trying to put down wire fence to block the entrance. Emptied my mag into them, great feeling.

It was a usefull lesson - always look for a weapon first - then supplies. Works perfect every time.

I realised from playing about 5 minutes that the game is just an open world deathmatch. And i have played it this way ever since.

I have to report my first kill last night. I decided to hook up with guys that run a local server since I had details for their TeamSpeak. Great bunch, quite friendly. I'd mainly decided to join TS because at least that way I knew a few people on the server would know who I was and not shoot me on sight. :) But it turned out to be a good decision because these guys do tend to squad up PVP areas so it's good to know where action is when I want to avoid it. I've roamed with a couple of them for a few days, never seemed to find action. The other night about 6 of them were on and they were working Berezino when I logged on so I was scouting the south end of town from the treeline when I heard single M4 rounds being fired off. Another sniper called spotting 2 geared guys on the hospital roof so I moved back into position and had a clear line on both of them. Over TS I heard 2 other players discussing range and heard 500m so I zeroed to that without even thinking that they were off to the West which was a fair bit further away than me. I called out the shot first and likely sent a bullet way clear over their heads when they turned around and started scanning my direction and popping a couple shots into the trees, so I backed off. The other sniper managed a probable hit on one of them before they left into the building.

But last night there were 8 of them on having a go around Balota airstrip. I went to hook up with one of them who was trying to get there after dying a couple of times enroute. (1-shot in the head by a zombie, and then ran afoul of another player as a new-spawn. He was looting up around Dolina when another bandit took notice of him and started firing at him from the police station while I was enroute to meet him there. Unfortunately as I arrived above on the hill the bandit had just left the police station roof and that was when I noticed the 2nd one. They set up camp near the middle of town so I never got a clear shot as my friend took a tactical retreat out of the area since I had spotted the buddy. Met up at another town and I gave him a pistol, clip, and some food as he geared up enroute, eventually making it down to the airstrip to meet up with the rest. We set up camp as the area was quiet and waited for the server restart. I took up position on the South over-watching the coast and rail routes. Just a few min before restart I caught someone in the corner of my eye along the beach, way too close for comfort. I wasn't sure if he saw me or not but I carefully put the bushes between me and him and backed off to the east side of the tent city and then circled around back to the coast since I still had the LRS on the mosin. Everyone else was either in the airfield or between there and the tent city. Then the restart, and I spawned back in at the location where I had first spotted that guy!  I wasn't sure if he was going to log back into the server so I retreated a ways back to the West and kept scanning the coast and rail line. That's when I spot him, crawling up the coast with his red backpack, not more than 120m away. So I scope in, confirm over TS that no one is on the coast, call in the shot, and take him out.

In hind-sight it was unfortunate that no one else was in a position to cover me on that flank, or at least confirm there wasn't anyone else further up the coast because I would have rather flanked around behind him and given him the option to surrender, disarm him and tell him to get on his way as the airfield was covered. Emotion and adrenaline definitely overpowered strategic thinking especially when covering that flank on my own. Overall it was a good day, my friend had some close calls but the majority of them stayed alive and well, and I helped spot a couple other guys rushing into the airfield from my position.

My first kill was pretty funny.  Me and my friend had just met this guy in Electro who was pretty cool.  Now, me and my friend were playing bandit but we thought this guy was cool so we didn't kill him.  After about 5 minutes we walk into the fire station on the way to Cherno and I said "hey man, by the way, we're bandits.  Are you cool with that?"  The guy didn't say anything.  He just turned around and flipped me off.  Then I put about 5 hard earned M4 rounds right in his skull.  He didn't say a damn thing, he just died and accepted it.  Bravo to him though for standing up to the big mean bandits :p

I try to be friendly, but if a guy has his gun already out i take no risks.... 35 hours of playing and i have probably killed around 8 people, all of them had weapons in hand and 3 or 4 of them initiated the firefight, actually killed 2 today, a team of 2 guys tried to take me and my friend (said they were friendly but one started to shoot!).

Been killed probably 2 or 3 times but had some friendly encounters too.

Well

my first kill was on a French guy on the police station(don't remember the town),

i said i saw him going into the building but i never understood if he was speaking to me as there was another player in the área but he kept asking in french if i spoke french,

until he bursted out of the station and started shooting, i sprinted to the surrounding Wall trying to pin his location again until i saw him and then managed to get a straight shot at his head, i think he was just nervous as it seemed he couldn't understand me lol, poor bastard

my last kill is  a bit more interesting(it was a few hours ago, i had some time and decided to join the last server i was on, 1st pp only, i had an heart attack when i saw the player list on joining, Full)

i was on a tower, descended from it, saw a guy looting the shelves on the garage, said hi, seemed like a good fella,  had a mosin yet no ammo, offered him a loaded .22 pistol, as soon as we were exiting the garage i said to him "watch out for other guys, the server is full and easy to pick up someone" as soon as i said that, i heard a shot and asked "was that you man??", looked at him to see him falling in the ground silent(hope he doesn't think i did it lool)

i ran to take cover between some walls trying to figure out where the shot came from and the only building that had Windows facing the building we just left had to be the 2story red house in front of it, i have a mosin with me with long range scope, saw a tiny bit of a red helmet, didn't risk the shot as i had only 1 bullet on it( for 3 days i was roaming cities and found no ammo for it, was starting to go nuts)

but i had a FNX pistol and 2 clips for it

ran around, entered it, saw him looking through the window, wasted an entire clip on him as i was shaking like hell(no other game gives this damn scary feeling)

he had a mosin, and about 40 rounds, because i shot him so many times, i ruined everything on him lool(but managed to take 4 rounds of his loaded mosin)
