heard someone talk on global,, what's going on?

You think that's bad? Wait until someone's on Global unwittingly but also trying to be sneaky, so all you hear as you're in the deepest part of a forest is someone whispering in your ear, "Hey, I'm moving right, you move left and flank his ass. He'll never know what hit him." I swear to god, the only time I've ever logged immediately. Freaky as fuck.

    Very is everyone at?

Where is everyone? Crawling away praying I wont find them if they make it over to that nearby bush after I shoot one of their kneecaps out. Rick's right, it is about PvP, but Rick's also wrong because it's not ONLY about PvP, it's about torturing some poor kid sitting behind his screen trying to bulk up on gear and shooting everyone he sees on sight. The game is all about human interaction in a fantasy post-apocalyptic world where our actions, however devious or pious, only resonate in the pixels we see on the screen, not in real life. So if for many people, like Rick, it means blasting people's faces away as soon as they see them. For some it means being a goody-two shoes and trying to "save" people. And for me, it means being a sadistic bastard who loves kneecapping. I mean seriously though, where else can you shoot someone in the kneecaps from the shade of a tree, watch them fall and bleed as they crawl around trying to find salvation, damning themselves for not making that splint out of the sticks they'd seen in that one shed because they figured the beans were worth more inventory space? Where else can you listen to them scream "FRIENDLY, I SWEAR I'M FRIENDLY YOU CAN HAVE MY GEAR PLEASE DON'T KILL ME I JUST GOT HERE FROM THE COAST," as you casually walk up behind them where you're just outside of their gun's angle? God I love you Dean Hall.

When you know you play too much Dayz :p

You know you've played too much DayZ when you're in the US Military, you see your friend grabbing his gear and vest and think, "Pssh, noob doesn't even have a backpack for the rest of his gear." O.o

    So, tents and stuff

I'd wholeheartedly support that. In keeping with realism, there should be a myriad of ways to hide your "booty" though. Sacks in trees, buried caches, waterproof cases hidden in streams and lakes, boxes under rock-piles and the such. I'm not terribly inventive but I'm sure there would be a million ways to hide something well and really make it interesting. It would also really help push people out of the big cities and into the woods more, helping (in my opinion) revitalize the group of people jaded by the Call of Duty-esque direction the game is swinging in right now.

    Saturday Night Gun Fight #3

How many of you are there?
  6. Phalanx102

    Decreased interest in the game?

Honestly, that's healthy decline for a game released in Alpha, I just hope to see it plateau in the future, and maybe even gain as we hit Beta?

    Sewn flags and patches.

Most definitely a +1 on this post. I love the upside-down american flag on the tactical shirt just as much as the next asshole, but seriously I would love to have "squad" patches or identifiers.

    Some petitions

+1 To all items. Fantastic list, especially 3 and 12. If I have bullets in my pocket I am able to just pull them out and drop them in the chamber of a rifle in my hands. In fact I used to have to as a kid learning to shoot, so I think it should most definitely be a viable option here.

    Your first kill

First kill? That's making me use my noggin damnit and I don't like to think overmuch. DISCLAIMER: TL;DR at the ending. Oh! I remember now. January-ish, back when the only guns were M4s, Mosins and FNXs I was clearing NWAF on a nighttime server. I don't play Gamma-up, I actually use my flashlight so on a full server this poses some serious risks, but I was in it to win it that night. I had my surround-sound heaphones on, playing on my 43' plasma, lights off and ready to rock. I cleared all the buildings up the east side, nobody, nobody, nobody, odd for a full server right? I made my way past the tower and fire-station, through the jailhouse and barracks. Apparently I was the first one there. I cleared up and out, swept the tents and was feeling pretty confident. I had gone from no gear to fully geared in about 30 minutes, a strapped-out M4 on my back and a fully loaded M4 ready to rock and roll. I left the tents and used my acog to check down-range on the AF, looking for signs of light or movement. Nothing. So I clear the empty warehouse on the west side and start moving south again. On my way down I take down 3 or 4 zeds just ranging around, one nice clean shot with the firefighter axe and the go down easy. That's when I heard the telltale sound of a player rustling through bushes. I quickly shut off my headlamp and ducked behind the closest tree. The sound was receeding from me, so I checked behind, no one in that open area. I popped around the tree (ashamedly) using the third person to peek, see if I could spot him but it was too dark. Then I realized. The sun was coming up, HAPPY DAY! So I moved around from tree to tree, I couldn't see him but i could hear him still, ever so slightly. That's when I saw his light, clearing the McDonalds (red restaurant building for the nubs). I snuck around the side but he was far enough ahead that he made it out before I arrived and was heading down towards the southern jailhouse. I followed his progress more closely this time, being sure to keep out of bushes. I watched quietly, sweating and trying to decide how to approach the situation while he cleared the Jailhouse. I decided the only time he'd put down his weapon was when gathering water at the well by the barracks. It was a long shot but I was willing to take it. So I snuck around and waited by the well. He approached, cleared the building and I was afraid he was going to just leave, but then, right on cue, he slings what I could only assume was a Mosin, and began drinking. I immediately yelled at him, "Put you hands behind your head! Do it and do it now!" he turned and looked, canteen in his hand, crouched, not moving, staring down the muzzle of my M4. "I said put your hands behind your head and don't move! You have until 5 to comply or I'll shoot" "1, 2, 3..." he dashed. He ran around the outside wall, barely avoiding a spray from my rifle. I followed, continuously telling him to stop, I only wanted to check his gear and I promised not to kill him, but he refused. He passed a blind corner and I knew I couldn't follow, he now had somewhat of an advantage, I didn't know if he'd gotten his weapon out. Something in my gut told me to check behind me though, around the stone wall. Maybe he came all the way around, in an attempt to flank me. He was even smarter. He had crawled under the small broken area in a wall and was propped up waiting. Still nothing. So I called out, "I'm coming around the corner, if you aren't on your knees with your hands behind your head, I'm shooting!" It worked, he turned around and I popped behind him as he turned, and laid at least 20 rounds in his direction. He died immediately. No response from him at all, no plea, no bragging, no taunting. Not a peep. I felt bad only because I ruined all of his gear, I don't KoS, but I'm not stupid enough to try and be a hero. Be fair to me and you won't get killed. TL;DR I snuck up on him, tried to be fair, he ran, tried to kill me, I was smarter and shot first.

Am I playing the same game as everyone else?

Give us a bit more detail about what you see? Which controls aren't responding? Did you join a HC server? Do you know? The more we know the more we can help.

    Was I being a dick?

You sir, are a scholar and a gentleman. This is how I handle my encounters as well, but rarely is it that you get such excitement and intrigue in one encounter. Well done.

    Uses for Rope

I wish we could get this moved to the Suggestions forum. That'd be awesome.

    Uses for Rope

I love the hanging idea. Morbid as it is, also the stretcher idea, but that's a *STRETCH* with just rope. Would be a complicated formula. What about uses in makeshift clothing from animal hides? Like leather vests with rope stitching together on the sides? Or maybe rock slings? Or arm slings for broken arms? When constant items become a thing, how about for tying things down, or trees together to make a barricade? You could tie bundles of sticks together to make them easier to carry to start fires? Also, when the game gets more in-depth, hanging the animals you kill upside down to drain the blood and make skinning faster? Lots of application for rope. Oh and maybe a sexy party. Just for the fun of it.

    Services Rendered

    You're welcome to try broski.
  15. I do judge by clothing. Biggest thing I look for though is masks and hat type. The practicals who are 50/50 friendly/kos usually wear the most practical gear, i.e. Ballistic helmet, high slotted clothes and the like. Others wear what they think they might wear in real life. The KoSers though go for rediculous looks though, masks, gas masks, full TTSKO. Personally, I'm in the military and I like the look of military gear, so I wear it.
