Ok guys I don't know if this is a bug or what but when I go into dayz game I hear a buzzing in my mic, I turned all game volume off, tried different mics, restarted pc, uninstalled and reinstalled, I've tried. Before it I was happening when it sounded perfect, I watched a video on how to boost the fps in the game, so I did multiple things going into files and changing things and what not and using nvidia to optimize it and all, so I have uninstalled deleted everything with it and changed all to default. It still does it. Can someone help me please.

Stupid bastard. Don't go into the game files and change things, it will get you banned as a cheater. You probably fucked with your sound system/speakers/outlets.

Or, the cord in your mic is going (fraying internally). Think of that?

Do you really mean your mic or your headphones / speakers?

1. Was calling him a stupid bastard necessary?

2. My game files, i.e. CFG's, are heavily modded, and that is ALLOWED.

3. He is asking for help, not smart ass remarks.

Also, have you changed your NVIDIA settings back to default?  Go in-game Configure>Audio>Sound Sources.  Try playing with that and see what happens.  I had an issue with buzzing in the mod, and changing that setting worked for me.

You hear a buzzing in your mike?

OK - so take your mike out of your ear.

(sorry friend, I couldnt resist that, really no harm intended)

You have headphones I guess (better than speakers). And this only happens with DayZ not with other talk or chat.. right?

In Steam there is a sound setup page that aids you to adjust your mike level so you can talk and hear at the right level.

Also a lot of windows audio mixers have a mike boost option, either on or off. Sometimes it is better off, with the mike volume up high, but try it yourself if you have it, then use Steam to adjust it.

If you use Skype, you have the same test setup in there, try that, it should adjust the settings about the same as Steam does.

Seems to me like a simple 'sound in-sound out' problem, you ought to be able to adjust that without messing with the game (IMO)

Hello there

To me it sounds like you are getting interference from a mic or other input. turn down your mic gain etc to see if that helps.

Moving to correct area.

Lastly, "Amusing" put downs and insults are not needed.

Ok guys, there headphones/mic and I didn't even touch the cfg file. I'll try the things you guys said but It only happens in dayz, not in anything else, no other programs or apps or games just in dayz.

Try Steam first maybe?

Right click on the Steam icon, choose Settings, then Voice...  try that, there is a 'test microphone' so you can hear what's happening

Also in DayZ there is the Configure option

Insid there is Audio

You can set the audio 'Microphone input Volume' on Auto, or you can set it manually. If it is turned down too low in manual adjust, then the output of your audio system will have to turn up higher so your mike comes through, this is one way you can get the buzzing in your headphones.

Ok so when I turn down my master volume in game that's when it does it, so I turned game noise on my mic down and master volume up, seems to do the trick, and sounds fine, just a bug I guess

Yahmon

Happened to me once, turned out, the trash TB X12's I had frayed a week after I got em. Check your wires, and then remember not to eat said wires.
