Lens flare should be removed. It's a cheap effect that has been done by everybody already 10 years ago and it makes no sense, I don't need to feel like I'm in a movie.

Of course getting blinded when looking into the sun is fine! Not sure what you mean with "optical flares", you mean scopes glinting?

Thanks Irish! Enjoy some musical fruits.

There is actually a bug that goes with it. I'll have a short vid up in the next day or so on it. Many will disapprove.

I really enjoy the new scope reflections/flares and the lens flares from the sun.

They help with immersion IMO!

But I play to have fun and enjoy myself, not turn off shadows and post processing so I cant get the most head shots.

So, I have to disagree with removing them.

On topic, yes they have been there.

You probably didn't notice them because night and some weather cycles were disabled before .44.

Sadly, I must do this for performance. It makes me an incredibly sad panda.

They make sense when on Third person view or when looking through a scope. They even make sense if your player if wearing sunglasses...

I don't agree except for the scope. And I never saw lens glare (like in the game or movies) when wearing sunglasses.

What are we in a J J Abrams movie or something?   Unless you have a scope, binocs, camera or other optics in front of your face, you should not see a lens flare.  It's an optical effect of the sun reflecting off of the a system of lenses (hence the name "lens flare").  What's next?  The view "snap-zooming" and shaky-cam-ing to the greatest source of drama in the game?

Nor should you.  Good sunglasses are polarized specifically to reduce such glare.

Seems like that those are showing in first person when you're aiming. That should be removed.
