Where is the action nowadays?

I'm always on a max populated server and I never find anyone on the NW airstrip. It used to be the hot zone in Arma. Where do people go for a fight now?

I hate that everyone stays on the coast.. its so dead in the inner parts of the map, and I just get so bored on the coast after playing endless hours in the mods, I cant hack it in the coastal towns. Ive done my turn of exploring the new areas, but after that it was all inner Chernarus for me. I wish more would do the same. People should know that the trek to the NWAF is well worth it if you dont meet any hostility there.. and most do not these days

NEAF is pretty active, been having a ton of squad fights up there lately.  It's a lot of fun, but since the majority of spawns are located in the top corner of the map now it means that berezino, svet, and neaf are the only places to be and always fighting in the same place gets dull.  Berezino easily turns into a clusterfuck when squads wipe because they run straight back, neaf is just far enough that people run straight back as well but at least is slightly more interesting than literally spawning on the spot.  Svet has a lot of camera (camera clipping through things, your character turning invisible etc) and fps issues I find.

 

The game offers nothing beyond pvp right now for people who come from the mod/who have been playing for a while.  There's no reason to go inland for loot either.  The new spawns just distill all the action into the NE corner of the map, which is both good and bad.  Since there's nothing to do but pvp right now, it makes getting back to your team/getting to the action a lot quicker, but obviously it's less than ideal for promoting more use of the map.

 

So yeah, Berezino, especially coastal/northern Berezino and NEAF.

The last 3 days has been a giant Berezino battlefield for me. I just got done with a gunfight that ended up lasting around 3 hours there with like 4 or 5 squads all trying to kill eachother.

The only action I have seen so far in NWAF was when I ran into this one dude looting a room and we were both stunned. He opened fire first with his M4 but my trusty SKS killed him without a single scratch on me. 

 

But now everyone is at Berezino, or stubborn freshies making the hike down to elektro or cherno.

Berezino is huge fun right now for pvp if you ask me, my squad have had some great shoot outs there the last few days

Cherno and Elektro is dead. Yesterday I was on the 100 player server with 92 players, and I found Cherno pristinely unlooted. I moved up the coast and Elektro showed signs of looting, but there wasn't a single player there at the time. Not until the small spawn towns did I see other players.

 

It seems the action is occurring at Berezino and Svetlo now.

I find the Berezino and NEA fights kinda boring.

 

The thing about DayZ is the unexpected firefights where you both have equal chances of survival.

 

Having firefights at Berezino or NEA your most likely going to end up dead either way and your going their expecting a fight.

 

Boring in my opinion.

What about the people that end up killing you though? If you're a good enough squad it's anything but boring, it's the most lucrative place on the map, where you can earn your loot through blood and iron! Someone's always winning in order for there to have been a loser :p

Honestly, no idea. I've been shot unconscious so much this week and all my clothes ruined I've had to switch clothing like 4 times a day

NEAF really isn't active at all. If you jump servers looking for a fight eventually you'll find out. Of course. Otherwise, no, you'll never see anyone on 18/20 servers. It's also a waste of time. The loot is crap and there's almost none of it.

 

Ultimately it doesn't really matter where you go. I've found that 9/10 players are exploiting these days, looking through walls and such. No point in even logging in.

ah ok, i remember a guy with a red motorhelmet and his friend. we had a freshspawn downstairs at our building yelling the hole time "come at me" etc (we thought its a bate). then the red one from the other building screamed like "shut the f.. up im trying to kill people here" was hilarious :)
