That's a tad incorrect actually. xD The map has actually expanded quite a bit.

It's really funny how uninformed and seemingly uninterested Dean is about his own game.... how the hell did they sell so many units of this with that kind of leadership?

Don't get me wrong I love his uncensored, naive nature. It just seems mind boggling to me how he can run his own product down and still get such a following.

I guess that just speaks to the strength of the original idea.

Well, patience here is key it would seem.

Had some good laughs at the twitch stream. Who's idea was it to send a new-spawn up north into nothing for half an hour? Derp.

I find it really unprofessional the way Dean constantly criticizes his group's hard work. Ok, the game may be trash right now, but for gods sake, defend your product, I feel it would have been less painful to hear a WarZ/H1Z1 fanboy talking trash about DayZ the whole time. The game is in alpha, we all know it, the zombies suck, we all know it, but please, the stream was completely pointless, I got nothing worth mentioning from it, in 30 minutes no houses were seen, no zombies, no news about updates, nothing, nothing but a road, trees and three books. It's not only "his" game, it's his team's effort being put into it, maybe he should start considering that, and if he really wants to move on, well I feel it may be a bloody good time to go, one of the main reasons I had bought this game was the fact that I actually felt every word Dean said when he was really devoted to this project, and I simply don't feel any interest from his part right now.

Next time prepare the stream instead of giving us 30 minutes filled with a shirtless woman running around the middle of nowhere.

It's not flaming, just constructive criticism.

As much as I love Dean and DayZ, I really wish he wouldn't put down his game down so much. It just makes it harder for me to convince my friends to play the game. :/

Yeah, that stream was really disappointing. Dean seems to be very negativa about his game, not to mention they didn't even bother showing DayZ what is really is. And didn't even answear any questions. I'm mad

Sadly, I was still sleeping and missed it.  It's really disheartening to read that he basically talked shit about DayZ.  If what you guys are saying is true then maybe it's time for him to hand over the reins right to BiS and he just leaves.

I don't know what he's counting as an area but when I compare Chernarus and Chernarus+ I don't see any difference in land mass.

Well, going from corner to corner I was only able to get 21709m which is 217km.  That's corner to corner

Seems like you forgot about the water. Lakes and ocean is not invisibly walled off like in WarZ, you can actually travel the waters of Chernarus.

That's just the distance between the corners, though, not the area. Using DayZDB and measuring either edge I get ~ (15360m x 15360m) = 236km^2

If you square your hypotenuse measurement and divide by two you get the same answer of about 236km^2.
