-Gews- 7443 Posted April 11, 2014 and you have tested this theory? You will die because you'll starve or whatever. Otherwise you will swim to infinity and beyond.
Survivor_Ted 269 Posted April 11, 2014 Actually no, my friend tried this once. You will swim REALLY far out until you can no longer see land at all, then you will eventually hit an invisible wall. As you don't have any means to finding your correct way back to land your best bet is to just swim until you die of dehydration/starvation.
TheWizard14 372 Posted April 11, 2014 DayZ is secretly a testing site for people observing us such as that in The Truman show. If you swim out too far, you will eventually find out that there are walls containing us in. Only then will you find out the truth about DayZ.

thesodesa 99 Posted April 11, 2014 This is one of the reasons i would like them to put encumbrance and stamina into the game. It should be possible to run out of stamina and drown, and how much weight you are carrying with you should affect how quickly this occurred and how fast you could swim. It would increase the importance of vehicles , boats in this case, drastically. Well, you get wet while swimming, which you dont want in the winter, but people might still resort to swimming to one of the islands (in full combat gear + a rucksack) in the summer if a limiting factor like this wasn't in place. nukifux 0 Posted April 11, 2014 When swimming, you have a chance of losing any gear you have on you. Right now it's bugged to where you will still get your stuff back after a few minutes of leaving water and going back to land.

ZomboWTF 527 Posted April 11, 2014 swimming far to the southwest, you will come to a small island where you can park a chopper wich will be spawning somewhere else on server reset... :D well, if there were any vehicles in the game as of yet but yes, you will die because: with the swimming speed and the current system, you won't be able to reach the edge of the map before starving the map is about 4 times bigger than the "playable" chernarus where loot is, and beyond that there is only debug area where you can not go or fall below the surface and eventualy die from hitting the bottom of the engine, but before you could get there, you would die of starvation or dehydration
