Depends. On Vanilla in version 1.8.0.3 the genderselection is turned off in favor of the spawnselection.

Yes, it is turned off on publichive, vanilla DayZ (1.8.0.3). That one has a system where you can select between 7 different spawnpoints, being:

 

• Berezino
• Elektro
• Chernogorsk
• Balota
• Kamenka
• Kamyshovo
• Random (Chernarus)

Not really 'glitches' in the mod, but they are turned off for the most part.  Women can't have gillie suits or bandit/hero skins.  So it's just blue hoody, red hat, and white pants.
