Dear Developer-Team of DayZ

Recommended Posts

Rocket and your team should concentrate on main elements on gameplay instead of making 100 of new pistols/rifles and mags/calibers! GUN-FETISH ?

Focus on thing like cooking/hunting, persistent objects, vehicles and base building!

I don´t need 100 different pistols and calibers... :/

They already are....maybe you need to read the Roadmap buddy.  :|

OP, have you considered that different people on the dev team are responsible for different aspects of the game? They've probably got one guy coding new items and one guy doing the artwork for them. Those guys can probably churn through many, many items in the time it takes the rest of the team to make complicated modifications to the game engine.

Maybe you should make your own survival game since you think you know exactly what the devs should be doing?

Then it seems their team set-up is not really great, is it? Because important problems are not nearly being tackled fast enough. If their team is not up to the task in this combination, they should maybe do something about it. And yeah, my belief is that almost nothing will be done according to the roadmap, at least not in a good and satisfying way. So far all they do is put in placeholders for this and that, and the argumentation is "they are working on the real solution"... Still waiting for any issue really being fixed in a good way.

Of course inventing base building and vehicles is much lesser effort and required testing time than installing a new weapon. You really got the point.

It might be that those bugs are harder to fix hence that is why they are taking longer to fix..???

If i did, i would take just 2 of the 30 million bucks and put out a bounty for any team from silicone valley to Taiwain to fix the game code and have it done in 6 months.  But nope, Dean let Bohemia run the show.  We are fucked.

1) The guys working on weapons and items aren't the same guys working on other features. These things will be constantly developed alongside everything else. Not sure why I have to repeat this so often...

And 2) I think we do need these things. The game lacks variety and more items and weapons lead to more variety and character progression. Essential IMO.

I don't even care about cooking/hunting yet, I want a world where the zombies are an actual thing to think about, where when you shoot them it has an physical effect, when you melee them they react, a world where they don't clip through walls to kill you, or totally ignore your presence.

That for me should be the #1 priority to make this not just a survival PvP game but something where if players don't work together they will most likely die from the zombie threat, this opens up whole new avenues of gameplay and also cements the reasoning behind the genre of the game, i.e. a survival zombie game.

There is an entire new studio team working on the things you want. Other stuff will be added as we go along.

Patience is key.

Again with the nonsense.

"We" are not

fucked
.

Im not sure about you though.

That argument is wearing a bit thin these days.

We're 3 months on from the Alpha being released and most of the RV Engine's historical issues remain unresolved.

Additionally, Lag/Desync/Rubberbanding is awful even when playing on a low pop server with ping under 30mS and the 0.43 heat-seaking Usain Bolt zombies are a joke.

Getting tired of these posts everyday. People, do research and use common sense before you come to these forums and complain about the games progress.

But wait didn't I see in a dev blog video that they were currently working on cooking/hunting? NO! must of been dreaming.. And how come your version of the game has more pistols than mine? because last time I counted there was only 5. But on a serious note why are you not making your own game?

Of course! that's perfect! I'm sure that team you find will no waay more about the engine than the people who created it! Bohemia pffft what do they know about game development they've only released 18 titles compared to how many you have released.

Exactly were only 3 months into Alpha, most of the work done already is to do with the server architecture. There hiring more people and have a dedicated team to work on the zombie and animal ai, the Lag and stuff will probably be an on going task because as you have seen the slightest changes can fuck everything up. If you expect the game to run flawlessly 3 months into alpha release then you only have yourself to blame for buying an unfinished product.

I remember when i cried after falling off my bicycle for the first time. I cried loudly and for a very long time. I cried so hard that my mommy came rushing outside and had quickly scooped me up into her warm embrace. After calming me down by gently kissing my forehead several times and whispering "it will be ok" in between them, i left my mothers arms and got back on my bicycle...

So what's your excuse?

God, so much ignorant people. DayZ standalone progress isn't even slow, in fact it is progressing just fine.

Why do some people buy Alpha?

You would avoid all this if you didn't. I'd suggest to learn about game development before you rant about it. In 3 months to 0.43 version, and now even in somewhat playable form? Not bad. <-- Thats what you should be saying. If you read their tweets and what is going on experimental, you'd realize that they aren't just sitting and sucking their thumbs either. Even experimental isn't the whole truth what is being developed and what not.

You cannot rant about something you don't know nothing about or else you are just ignorant. Although, many people live happily in ignorance. But, thats just another story.

Oh look guys, another random dude on the internet, thinking he is smarter than the dev team.

lol SRSLY? :D

Why most of the f-ing ppl don't see one cute aspect why many are insulting devs, bohemia, dean and pretty mich anything about DayZ SA?

If it was alpha that is being played by like 50K ppl it would be ok ... once this game was bought by 1,7 Million ppl .... yeah I don't think you can call it an "indie" project anymore, with money raised by "early access" it could be used to hire a lot of good ppl.

However as I am Czech myself I know how it goes in here ... YAY we made over 40 million Euro what shall we do? ... hmmm ... use 2 millions for development and the rest will be .... "put to good use" ehehehehe.

That was the day owner of Bohemia interactive - one of world's most tragic game studios - along with Dean bought several cars, few houses around the world and gave all of us a finger.

I think I'll quote what Dean said in one of the interviews as I feel that it would be really nice if people actually got the message.

"It doesn't take money to fix bugs, it takes time"

People with no clue about game development thinking they need to tell game developers how to do their job.

just focus on this, just focus on that...

God you make me want to kill puppies.

You don't see people telling a doctor "to just cut the tumor away" how difficult is that.

Or tell space engineers to just focus on "making a spacecraft that can traverse the universe"

I believe the same people, who are creating new item models are the same, who're also working on the server matrix, the netcode, cleaning the offices and making lunch for everyone, every day.

Well...I can see a reason, though I wouldn't insult anyone. The reason is that the Mod currently has more content BUT I won't return to it.

Why?

Axehandling in Standalone, that's why.

Even thougn Axehandling became way worse since they changed the animations, its still better than in the Mod, where you have to unequip your mainhand weapon etc and that weapon might dissapear or unable to be picked up again.

Also the lack of new content, the odd thing that there was Green-Shotgun ammo in the game aswell as red, when there was no shotgun, but when the shotgun was introduced we only have red ammo, the fact that shotgun ammo from the speedloader does less damage.

That's stuff that I IMAGINE is rather easy to fix, compared to numerous other things

...LIKE ...standing on the smokestack in Vybor factory, that has only a thin plate to walk on but with a handrailing> taking my rifle into my hands> falling through the railing and die, because the gun seems to increase my collisionbox and makes me glitch out. Or other fun stuff like: sticking your gun through a thin wall and shooting through it, since the bullet is "generated" at the muzzle and not in the riflechamber.

Or: Seeing another player through a wall just because he came close to it. He glitches through it and then back in my point of view, but for him he always was behind the wall.

All those things did not happen in the mod.

Anyway, the SA has caused a strange thing among the veteran players of the mod. Most of them tried SA, most of them left SA rather quickly and most of those did not return to the mod either. That's a sad thing really :/
