Finding somewhere called home

So we all now with the recent video that was posted from rezzed that dean has alot on his plate with implementing new things into DayZ from hunting, cooking and even boarding up structures for protecting.

 

Anyway my question has anybody passed a empty house/hut that they like the look of to board up and call home. Its a yes from me as i have found a nice little place only a few minuites run to villiage and quite near the woods so perfect for game hunting.

 

So back to the quistion....has anybody atcually thought about looking for a building now to save time in the long run?

yeah its pretty cool place, to be honest im thinking alot of people will be taking up those houses quickly due to the fact that they dont have to run far for loot etc, im more of a 'further away...less trouble' kind of guy XD

Cabin in the woods for me and the misses. Near a water source and plenty of food will be there. Fingers crossed we dont have a year to wait for the ability to make it worth staying in.

hahahaha like your thinking, the nearest water source for me is around 200 to 300 meteres away but there is a villiage next door to it so perfect for me to loot as well :) good choice buddy

I havent been around there much...the server i play there is a sniper {basically me but he kills for fun} might have to go back up there and take him out for good and have a look around. we have been exchangeing shots for around a week now

Very true great for looking out of as well...being a marksman myself int he game i know its a pain to look at every window before moving on, this means it gives a chance to quickly see me before i see you. :)

Well, the drawback is that if you get noticed, there is only one way out and you can find yourself literally cornered.

I hope they introduce traps at some point. :) I would booby-trap every square meter of the whole building :D

very true...seems like you have a pan tho, well if im ever in a server and see a head pop up out of window il give you a friendly wave :)...il pick up some ice cream from the shop and come on up for a coffee XD

Speaking of signals, I can't wait for the walkie-talkies. Wonder what range will those have... I'll just sit listening to the default frequency hearing what ppl are saying XD (and if they come in range) :D

i have thought about this with a friend and have found a cabin next to a pond, the problem is i shall need alot of purification tablets. The other thought i have had is to find rocks and logs for a fire and see if their are tents/ player made structures possible, if so i shall move into a cave near a pond i found, will still need supplies but will be more fun in my opinion.

also i love the walkie talkie idea, i was wondering about a small village, finding a group and take over a place to call home, if everyone had walkie-talkies that would be the ultimate "walking dead" moment.
