woots 82 Posted March 31, 2014 What ever happened to south coast spawns? I think that this would get more people inland to meet up with other people. Right now everyone just goes to Berenzino or Electro
Jfiles 439 Posted March 31, 2014 they were deleted. No more. Nice picture btw. I died laughing when i saw it. Awww what a good movie.
Jumbaliah 113 Posted March 31, 2014 Best loot is on the west side of the map, so now you spawn on the east!
TheWizard14 372 Posted March 31, 2014 Best loot is on the west side of the map, so now you spawn on the east! No you idiot. Now we can't go to our precious Kamenka and Komorovo! Nah just kidding. As if people actually liked those spawns in the first place. Every time someone spawned in those god forbidden areas, they would find the nearest light house and kill themselves. Except if they spawned near the Balota Airfield. But god damn. Three Valleys is just another death fest place. It was already bad enough in the mod that you spawned there 60% of the time that you died. But now that they removed the south spawns, except for elektro, you now spawn there 80% of the time. blowmyhorn 20 Posted March 31, 2014 Perhaps they should draw a cross across the centre of the map and "birth" people along its axis. Perhaps if they were more central we would see people radiate out then to the more (currently) remote areas. Example:Novy Sobor Guglovo Sosnovka Nadezhdino Gvozdnho OR even just some random areas in a field between the lot. As it is there seems little incentive for a large amount of the user base to move away from the coast, which is a real shame. I am absolutely sick of watching videos of the latest battle in Electro....boring. Or the latest search for bandits along the southeast coastline....dire.
BiGoDeViN (DayZ) 423 Posted March 31, 2014 Or the latest search for bandits along the southeast coastline....dire. It is dire. You said it yourself, man. Most of the community is on the coast. Freshspawns too. So where will Bandits go? The coast. You don't find hostile people up north anymore. Unless you go to an Airfield or something.

St. Jimmy 1631 Posted March 31, 2014 Spawns need to be spread everywhere on the map and not just only one or two side of the map. Even inland spawns would be interesting.

komadose 190 Posted March 31, 2014 (edited) i can find Mosins, SKS' and M4s on coast, so why would i bother travelling for hours to inland, where there's no one around? when they make travelling more fun (=vehicles) i would happily roam the map. even a bicycle would do for starters. Uutgrunnen 96 Posted March 31, 2014 Spawn places should be completely random anywhere on the map. Why spawn on the beach? I mean what's the story behind that? You were chilling on the beach and had too many beers. Next moment you wake up hungry and find out that everybody has turned into a man eating zombie.Something like this? Beach just doesn't make sense.

You were on a boat trying to escape infection and your boat sank or something. Edited March 31, 2014 by Weedz

randomspawn 215 Posted March 31, 2014 (edited) Spawn places should be completely random anywhere on the map....Beach just doesn't make sense.Well, this game doesn't give a lot of guidance. If you spawned up north or west of the perimeter train tracks, you might just end up wandering in the woods without ever seeing a building, then die of starvation. This would not be fun for new guys. I did spawn in Svet last night. Of course, that place is a lag fest for me, so I barely got out with any blood left. I ran down to Olsha and got some water and a bit of food. That town is kinda weak, now that they changed the loots in the last update. Some of the houses that were good for a bit of food no longer spawn anything. TLDR: yay, I spawned in Svet, boo, Svet is laggy as crap. Edited March 31, 2014 by randomspawn

You know if you had run west for 5 minutes you would have got to the new town with 3, THREE! piano houses, a fire station, supermarket and red brick buildings. You could have then swung south for 5 minutes run to the NEAF and neighbouring town. You would have been suited, booted and had enough food to last....expand your mind! krebsy 11 Posted March 31, 2014 I get why we spawn on the coast (shipwrecks etc) but much preferred it when we spawned on both coasts. I guess that's why Zelenogorsk is so empty every time I've been there. I love the idea of a totally random spawn, wandering through the woods all lost and alone and the sheer joy of stumbling across a small village :)...
krebsy 11 Posted March 31, 2014 Ply I've no inclination now to go anywhere east of gorka.....
Weedz 1105 Posted March 31, 2014 Also there is a chance of spawning at Novy Sobor like there has always been.

I ran from svet so fast that I ended up further south than I planned. No worries though, I hit the airfield then got safely parked for the night. I do like the town. Spent a week based there with the garages and piano houses and firestations.
jeffroland 26 Posted March 31, 2014 Well, I've spawned twice on the south shore since the latest release. It was on the eastern end of the south shore near the Islands but definitely on the south shore. One of these was on the beach and the other was inland several hundred meters just north of Kamyshovo
gibonez 3633 Posted March 31, 2014 Really wish they would turn chenarus into a big island then pepper the entire island coast with spawns.
Weedz 1105 Posted March 31, 2014 (edited) Really wish they would turn chenarus into a big island then pepper the entire island coast with spawns. That might actually be the plan when they get the map done as the highway loops all the way around now. At the very least they should strongly consider it especially when they start upping the players per server. Edited March 31, 2014 by Weedz
doctorbadsign 645 Posted March 31, 2014 In my opinion what we need is some kind of localized loot, and specialized buildings that only appear in certain areas. Maybe a camping store in Zelenogorsk where you'd be pretty much guaranteed a tent and a stove etc. Maybe a certain gun only spawns at the NWAF. It is stupid that the whole game revolves around the coast. I want to run around random towns inland and feel like I have a chance of bumping into people.
