Am I the only one that was somewhat irked when he brought up the "doors open and close randomly" thing and attributed it to one of the designers? I've seen that suggestion coming from the community many many times...

a german shephard/border collie IRL

 

don't need one in game

 

i love animals but i will kill and eat your dogs and horses on sight

 

it's the principle of the thing

dude, i'm taking this half as far as the game will, or the players demand.

 

why cant i feed my dog?

my dog is sick!

someone force fed my dog disinfectant spray!

omg, someone just kos'd my dog!

we need dog body armor!

i need more dog related loot!

i want leashes in new colors!

i want a dog whistle so i can call my dog to me!

i want my dog to fight other wildlife!

i want to be able to bandage my dog!

i want my dog to bark at someone nearby!

You need to remembor thats a VERY small minority of the community.

Having companion pets is a bit of a stretch that I agree should not be a part of this game. Why would you even want one walking around you and most likely giving away your position? I second the option to KOS them. Many sad pandas soon to be heard crying out on the forums because some bandit shot their dog.

Same thing can be said for 3rd person issues. Don't like it? Join a hardcore server.

Of course dayz needs dogs. Cod has them, so if dayz wants to be competitive they should have dogs too...

You forgot the kill streaks, and the helicopter support, and the care packages, and the tactical nuke, AND OF COURSE, the UAV.

Of course dayz needs dogs. Cod has them, so if dayz wants to be competitive they should have dogs too...

Hopefully we get some innovative Mario 64 level fish AI too this game really needs it.

OP needs to add that it was about server optimization. Client might not get any better multi-core support.

It's both for client and server side.
