Name says it all, a acoustic guitar that when equiping can be used to play, you can play chords with the keyboard 

 

for example: chord c is played with the c key

Of course I know there will be lot of players who will oppose it, but they should just ignore it.

 

I look forward to see if it'll be in a official release, or when mods come, someone might add it.

i myself play electric guitar aswell but since electricity doesnt work anymore a acoustic guitar would be better, i was thinking of just playing the standard chords like c,d,g,f,a,e, maybe am aswell??

A simple acoustic one would be fine in my opinion. But I'm not sure about the system your proposing. There's a lot more to music than the chords you play. What I'm trying to say is that your system is really limiting the possibilities and the songs that can be made with it.

What they could do is add a certain amount of songs to the game, and when you activate the guitar it plays a random one, but for it to play, you need to press specific keys when it is said for you to press them, not necessarily like in Guitar Hero, but a similar concept. This would allow to have actual nice songs and involve player interaction.

I actually don't mind the idea completely, but I'm 100% sure people would find a way to make it annoying and obnoxious. Maybe put a guitar and record a few basic chord progressions, so we can chose a pre-recorded acoustic song by scrolling the mouse wheel. Like...

play blues
play country
play rnr
play pop

something like that. And then people could make up their own songs and sing them into the mic, maybe tell their own story in a country style ghost song, like in the video.

yea you should choose a song and to play it well you have to press certain buttons like on dance dance revolution style. like A then B then F then M etc.

I love the piano in Gary's Mod, and the instrument styles in Starbound are another option. I would personally love to see instruments for those camp-fire situations.

In the F2PMMORPG I play, Mabinogi, music is a good-sized chunk of material.  It could be an alternative, but you could just have it so you copy+paste some MML (Musical markup language, what MIDI records into and is really easy to find for all sorts of songs on the internet)  It provides the ability to play whatever songs you want in a basic form while not being too complicated.  Plus, if you have teh patience, you can learn how to write MML (it's not too bad) and compose your own music!  It's really popular to play music in Mabinogi and if you don't have a song, you can get a "score scroll" or in DayZ's instance, "Sheet music" from a friend and play a song they had.

There should actually be all sorts of instruments so we can form bands! Based on my experience as a musician, and DayZ player, bands could have gigs all around the Chernarus.
