Spawning with a gun

Crazy, right? Now, hear me out on this before posting please.

 

My thought is that maybe, spawning with a .22 Caliber Handgun with a 7 round clip and 3-5 bullets (could be random) might be a good idea. .22 Calibers are obviously weak and it would have a 70% 2 hit ratio on Zombies, with a 30% 1 hit.

 

For players, it will ONLY one hit kill if you get a direct headshot when the player is wearing no helmet. Hats don't count. Anywhere else will take a lot to kill (exact ratios can be thought up).

 

Now, this is the kicker before everyone gets all butthurt. You get a gun character once every 2 hours (or a different amount of time, but no LOWER than 2 hours). This way it prevents the obvious flaw where you can die, run back in, get a few shots off, blah blah blah. This way, once you lose your gun character, you don't get another one for X amount of hours.

 

It feels, to me at least, it would decrease low pop looting, and I would feel A LOT less bandit fodder as a new spawn.

 

Thoughts? Please, if you have comments, constructively post them. This came to me while at a gun store today IRL, and I wanted to voice it here. Will it ever get added? Probably not, but maybe if there IS a way to balance it correctly, it can be worth while.

Everyone previously did start out with a gun; then rocket didn't like it, and guns were removed. It seemed to me to be a change for the better.

Way back when this was how the mod worked.

I quickly moved to dropping everything on the beach when I spawned. Something I do to this day.

Spawn with nothing is the real dayz way to go. No spawn with gun.

If there was ANY gun that should spawn with the player its the .22 period. Its like the worst gun and ether a huge hit or miss depending on the players skills. So i dont see any problems with spawning with any of the .22s

I didnt know they used to spawn with a gun - then again i didnt start till late December i think - either way I prefer no gun on spawn in, would ruin the mood for me

What I think is that people should spawn in miserable conditions, meaning badly damaged clothes and already being slightly hungry and thirsty.

Right, because there is no way the same guys who just shoot everyone after they find a gun are going to do the same thing if they just flat out start with one. This would in no way increase the amount of PK going on at all.

All of my beans for this. It's silly how you wash up on a beach after god knows how long and you are slightly hungry.

Something tells me having a gun with 3-5 bullets and a 70% 2 hit KR on zombies doesn't make Axes for killing zombies useless..

 

Also, I see everyone didn't even read the part about you DON'T SPAWN WITH A GUN EVERY TIME, but meh. Expected response is expected.

It was in the mod.. it was non consequential. It really was no big deal either way. We have the punching each other today, back then it was the makarov pistol. 

 

Either way it does not matter to discuss this. BIS will never do this while Rocket is there.. ever.

No one bothered to. Wouldn't that make newspawns continually suicide until they get a gun? 

 

Edit: Just read the full post,(lol) and as people stated melee weapons would become shit, and would increase the amount of killing at coasts as well.

I dont go PKing as im sure many try to not do and avoid. Some of us just like killing infected. Also you know most ppl wil be terrible trying to chamber one round all the time especially if they miss a guy with an axe that gets the jump on them lol.
