The Anti-Game - Why DayZ will stay a crappy game

I understand, but maybe the post should be titled why DayZ isn't for me, the fun that I get out of it, currently is can I survive, I spawn in often late and on a full server the coast is literally empty, I've heard all the stories about players starving to death I'm scrounging heading to all the little towns that are out of the way looking for something.  Sometimes I've been lucky with this and I've gotten geared up other times I've been scrounging berries just to stay alive (now that's not fun) but I've done it I've survived where other can't.

 

Every time I encounter another player I wonder about how to approach the situation. Some I've been shot, some I've killed, some I've made a group and some I've walked away from.

 

Watching the game evolve is in it's own right something I enjoy, there is plenty of things to look forward too for myself anyway, I'm not sure what you expected are you mad because you died? I've died too you know lot's several from glitches some from bad judgment and some carelessness.

 

If the KoS mentality bother's you then why not join a group? I avoid KoS by not being seen, can I be sneakier then the sniper? some situations I've managed to talk my way out of. To me the freedom and mass murder that carries on is a challenge, being able to discern dodgy behavior, phrases and the tremor in their voice are they afraid of me, thinking I'm going to kill them or are they planning to kill me?

 

I enjoy they way this game plays out sometime I don't have a chance, sometimes I make a bad decision.

 

Finally if your so upset and angry at this game why are you posting here? are you looking for validation on your view's so you can leave the community with a bang of yeah I'm right, guess what next week someone is going to post here a similar thing before they leave and we still won't care.

I don't agree with OP. It is - of course - his opinion; but it feels like he has a pretty "traditional" game experience.

A few current titles and many titles in the future (not the casual one) have the focus to let the consumer see the bigger picture. It's like the modern art - but back in the 20th century.

While "traditional" games give you constant success or let you achieve different milestone to keep you up in mood - games like DayZ are not comparable with these titles. I'm actually too lazy to explain what I mean :D

I'm glad DayZ isn't for everybody, and I'm glad that the simulator nature of the game drives off the "easily bored". I get more out of an hour doing nothing in DayZ than I do out of a night of L4D2.

I don't know about you, but I always have fun in DayZ. 

Like just a few mins ago, me and my buddy were searching for food in Kranostav, and noticed a guy on the office building there, he started shooting at us. He pinned us down, so me and buddy formed a plan on the fly. We took cover, and on the count of 3 I ran out to draw his fire while he was firing at me, my buddy lined up a shot and took him out. I took a hit, but it was fucking awesome how it went down.

You are Dumb there is so many ways you can play this game...why not KoS...it is fun and rewarding too  every time i KoS somebody i hope he will go to reddit and cry...it makes me so happy every time i see a post there somebody craying..im proud my self ...kind a  knowing im a part of this big effort that we KoS ers do every day ..making  game so intrestenting  and Hard to survive..that's what this game is all about..we stopping this game to become like SiM City of survival games...im verry happy when i see somebody do not play it anymore ( finnal kill) it makes me  soo happy and fullfilled ...only cruel and strong will survive.....humanity is only a pharse..this a game is for Men and Woman,not boys and girls...

I've been as cruel as the game allows you to be. After a while, it gets boring and repetitive.

Secondly, its fine not to like the game but fundamentally it is what it is. Its not going to change from its sandbox nature. If one doesnt like that then one needs to play something else.

It aint over till its Finished, and even then It will run onto something else, meaning the game will go through more changes than most other games could dream about. Do you realise its going to be a classic game your children will be playing?

 

Just wait till it is released to the Modding community.  I recall the Mod under rocket, it was a basic shell, then the mod (as is today) has been almost transformed into another kinda monster.

I think the OP is right, but only if you are playing for stuff. If stuff is your goal, this game will suck for you in the short term.

 

The point of the game is not stuff, at least not until base building comes around, but even then it isn't the main point. The point is what you do with the stuff until you lose it and how you lose it.

Go play independent on stratis in arma 3 wasteland. You will die a lot more often.

Alpha is meant to be limited in its scope. Not all game aspects are added. There will be more activities and things to donajd worry about as development progresses.

Your posts are as embarrassing as your countryman, Mirko Filipovic. The OP has a point, although I don't fully agree with him. DayZ is a brand of its own. It doesn't promise you anything. It doesn't force you to follow any rules. You can play it however you want. This game is not all about hoarding massive amounts of ammunition and medical supplies. Unfortunately, that is what people think it's about, so when they die, these threads happen. I don't fully disagree with the OP, but this game needs to be played with zero fucks given. That will remain the same from now until its release.
