Recommended Posts

Please, we need better FPS everywhere, I hope we will one day be able to not lag in cities or big towns.

Rocket tweeted that they had found a possible cause for such bad performance in cities so fingers crossed you will get your wish ( i wont hold my breath as i dont have that much faith in them lol BIS hasnt solved the problem in arma in 12 years but hey they may crack it now who knows)

PS will you hate me if i point out i pretty much already get 40 or close to it in every city except cherno apartments and guba bay...

Hopefully, it gets fixed soon. Ive been travelling around Chernarus and have been getting good FPS lately so I think fixes are on the way.

Yes we will, theres no doubt it wil get better..... In a year :)

If you look at other BI titles, such as Arma 3, you will find this game ran like crap during the entire development phase and it wasnt until, after final release, people got some actual "proper optimization".

Arma 3 runs almost twice as well now, as during the Alpha phase, and DayZ is scheduled to be in public development phases, for far longer then Arma 3 ever was (public alpha/beta im talking about)

They might have found some issues already, but theres no reason to start to streamline the entire source code, when the source code is far from finished.
We will get better FPS, but its on the bottom of the list tbh, no reason to start client optimization just yet.
Wait a year and try the game again :) I can almost promise you it will run better, at that time.

I get around 40 in the city with it maxing out at 60 elsewhere. If they can up that number, it would be nice but it is on the bottom of the list of things I think that need optimization.

Windows 7 x64 Ultimate

Intel Core i7-4770K @ 4.5GHz

8GB DDR3 SDRAM PC3-1600

nVidia GeForce GTX770 2GB GDDR5

Well, you have a pretty good PC, so ofc you arent having trouble running this game mate.

But we cant all have the newest i7's and expensive GTX700 series cards tbh, it needs to run "well" on recommended requirements and it doesnt atm.

I am confident it will though, but its far into the future tbh.

This is false information. Arma 3 still runs like absolute garbage in mutliplayer.

Not trying to hijack your thread but I've started one that we can all post our specs, in game settings and FPS in.  http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/177859-post-your-pc-specs-in-game-settings-and-fps-here/

Just trying to help keep clutter in the forums down.

I'd say that hugely depends on server.

Also when we played coop mission in 5 people, I was having nice FPS around 50 and we were fighting lots of npc's.

Oh and some wasteland servers runs rather nice even with 50-60 folks. I think those were ws.arma.su versions of wasteland.

I'm not saying Arma 3 does not need more optimalisations, I'm saying it's far from doom and gloom of your post, so there is a hope for DayZ!

What are you talking about? This game is clearly perfect. I cannot fault the production of this game one bit, and the fact you are whining and complaining just means you're butthurt and a casual. Also there was a disclaimer saying it's in alpha. How dare you come to this forum and say ANYTHING negative about this game.

Regards,

You don't need to. I have a i5 3570 w/ a AMD HD 7850 2gb, and 8GB of RAM.

Still a pretty good PC, but I'm getting the exact same kind of FPS.

ws.arma.su wasteland still gives me terrible framerate in some places. My group's Ifrit got annihilated while I was in the gunner seat with 10-15 fps. Very saddening.

I have the same rig. It plays DayZ just fine though Ive tweaked the settings (less shadows, less FXAA, less AO) for a bigger boost in perf.

They already improved an issue where your fps would drop when looking in the direction of buildings in experimental.

lol not true.....

Im running a fine 60+ fps in almost all missions on my setup (check the signature)

You sir, are an ass.... Arma III is running so much better, then it ever had tbh.
At least its running way better then the Alpha/Beta, theres no doubt.
Its not my fault you are joining the wrong missions/servers mate, the game will run 60+ FPS on a medium rig, without problems, you just gotta join the right mission or server tbh.

Ok, im sorry but theres a hell of a difference from a 3rd gen to a 4th gen Intel processor mate.

Im running 2nd gen i5 and theres no doubt the game wasnt made to run well on this processor.

You have a 3rd gen, and the guy i was refering to has a 4th gen, its a hell of a difference in processing power.

I'm not sure that is completely true. Sandy Bridge (3rd gen) was released in 2011 and Arma 2 was released 2009.

And as we know, DayZ SA uses modified Arma 2 engine, supposedly it's modification from Take on Helicopters and that was released by the end of 2011. So if anything, Sandy Bridge should have been "the intel" for that game, based on engine.

Btw I'd say that Hashwell is more like 5th gen, when we have Nehalem, Westmere, Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge and Hashwell.

Oh and I've got i-7 4770K (not yet clocked), 8GB DDR3, Radeon HD 7870 2GB and yes, the game should run smoother.

In big cities I can have between 20-40 FPS, outside 50-60, when looking at ocean or sky 130 O_o.

Love the game and sincerely hope they will add more optimalisation and that cities will stop running bad.

They have mentioned something about too many proxies causing FPS drops in towns and that they want to fix that, so yeah, I remain optimistics. If they pull it out, I could enjoy DayZ SA with more of my friends, because not everybody has expensive PC.

TL;DR Love Arma and DayZ, but optimalisations are still needed

I guess being in car is more demanding overall. Usually I'm infantry man and on ws wastelands I really can enjoy good FPS most of the time. But yeah, the optimalisations are far from being done I hope.

I get 60 minimum (single player and multi player on ultra settings) FPS in Arma 3, and 25 minimum (in Elektrozavodsk, maximum settings) FPS in DayZ:SA.

Uh ya ok buddy.  Go read my thread.  Learn what helping people is about.  Like I said, use this one to complain and accomplish nothing, makes no difference to me.

Not complaining, there's a difference between complaining and stating facts.
